iOS 8.4 Jailbreak Download & Release Date Looming? What Could Be Next For Jailbreak Prospects

By Staff| May 20, 2015

With iOS 8.4 expected to hit devices soon, jailbreakers may not release an iOS 8.2 or 8.3 jailbreak tool yet, Press And Update said. The outlet is convinced that TaiG and Pangu are both waiting for the software update, before jailbreaking iOS 8.3.

Meanwhile, some experts claimed that the updated iOS will be impossible to jailbreak, Day Herald cited. According to the outlet, iOS 8.4 will bring many changes, improvements and features, not to mention the anticipated fixing of vulnerability and security issues.

Day Herald said users may need to wait for iOS 9 to get jailbroken, considering that an iOS 8.3 jailbreak looks to be ineffective at this point.

Nevertheless, efforts aimed at jailbreaking iOS 8.4 have already begun, the Ecumenical News reported. As told by the outlet, developer Stefan Esser has claimed about jailbreaking the updated operating system.

Esser, who goes by the moniker "i0n1c," previously said, "Today I am delighted to share this video of a proof of concept iOS 8.4-beta 1 jailbreak that I was working on the last 4 days. The major vulnerability used in here was found right after the SyScan 2015 security conference when I was relaxing in Singapore from several weeks of training and conferences."

However, Esser's jailbreak has been noted only for personal use, Day Herald wrote. Reportedly, Pangu stole Esser's concept the last time he made a public jailbreak, the outlet said.

The Ecumenical News is convinced that an iOS 8.3 jailbreak is unlikely, knowing that most hackers have set their eyes on iOS 8.4.

Currently, jailbreak users are stuck on iOS 8.1.2, the Gospel Herald noted. The outlet cited the assumption of iOS watcher iCrackUriDevice, who seemed to be convinced that TaiG and Pangu may have moved onto iOS 8.4.

In addition, the observer indicated that Apple could patch iOS 8.4 anytime, which of course, results to another unfortunate event among the jailbreak community,

Speculations have it that iOS 8.4 will launch as a complete version in Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, set to happen between June 8 and June 12, the Ecumenical News said.

Interestingly, Apple followers are also looking at iOS 9's appearance in the conference, the Gospel Herald wrote. According to the outlet, the new OS is expected to arrive for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and iPad 3.

Meanwhile, in a recent article, IBT listed a number of interesting Cydia tweaks. These are available for iOS 8 jailbroken devices, the outlet pointed. Some of the free tweaks include HUDTransparent8, NoScrollWhenNewMessage and BrighterLSMedia. Paid tweaks include AutoAnswer8, No Banner and Syndrome, all below $4.
