Justin Bieber Disappointed With Himself? Singer Signs Up for Community Service
The Canadian pop star, whom the world has grown accustomed to either loving or hating, has been showing a lot of promise as of late. Justin Bieber, who grew up right in front of the public's very eyes (via his YouTube videos in his younger days), has come of age, or at least to his senses.
For one, he has owned up to his mistakes in the past -- he issued a public apology video acknowledging his being "arrogant" and "conceited"; and making the daunting move of subjecting himself into a Comedy Central roast and making fun of himself. Two things even grownups have failed to accomplish, and takes a lot of maturity to do so.
It was a big step up from his obnoxious self who was lambasted for throwing eggs to one of his Calabasas neighbor's house, resulting to an $80,000 worth of damages and filing of charges against him.
Bieber has since then on completed all but his sentence in the misdemeanor case, according to a report from The AP. He was able to finish attending 12 anger management sessions under probation.
He also signed up to help a Los Angles group improve their facilities to comply with the required five days of community service to complete his sentence.
"His overall performance on probation has been good and he continues to display a cooperative attitude," his probation officer said.
In an interview with the Seventeen Magazine, he admits to his bad behavior, saying that he "was rebelling a little bit." He added, "I was getting cockier and cockier. I didn't have people to check me."
The "Never Say Never" and "Beauty And The Beat" singer also expressed remorse. "I looked back and I was disappointed in myself," he said. "You have to own up to the mistakes. You have to say, 'I'm sorry if I've let you down.'" The singer now realized he had to choose the right people to hang out with.
"I need healthy relationships with people I can feel safe with. People I can say whatever to, and I'm not going to be judged," he said.
His heartfelt apology video was posted late January, following the taping of one of his recent appearances in "The Ellen Degeneres Show", wherein he brought flowers and Calvin Klein underwear for her birthday, the Today.com wrote.
"I really want people to know how much I care, how much I care about people... I'm a person who genuinely cares and although what's happened in the past has happened, I just want to make the best impression on people and be kind and loving and gentle and soft and although people can call me a 'softy,' that's how my mom raised me," Bieber said.
