Telltale's The Walking Dead Season Two News: Episode One Release Date Revealed on Steam [Trailer]
The release date for the first episode of season two of Telltale's The Walking Dead game has been revealed thanks to a leak on Steam.
According to the game's Steam page, the first episode of the game will be available on Dec. 17, and those who purchase the season pass for the game will receive the five planned episodes for the game at a 10 percent discount overall. The season pass for the game is being offered as a pre-order for $22.49 with the 10 percent discount.
The page for the game also reveals some new details about the game, including what gamers can expect as they play as Clementine for the first time in the series:
"The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the undead apocalypse. Left to fend for herself, she has been forced to learn how to survive in a world gone mad. Many months have passed since the events seen in Season One of The Walking Dead, and Clementine is searching for safety. But what can an ordinary child do to stay alive when the living can be just as bad - and sometimes worse - than the dead? As Clementine, you will be tested by situations and dilemmas that will test your morals and your instinct for survival. Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012's Game of the Year."
If users have previously played the first season of The Walking Dead and the standalone DLC episode 400 Days, which Telltale highly recommends, then those decisions made previously in the game will affect how the second batch of episodes will play out. However, it is unclear exactly how these decisions will change how the game will play out, and it will be interesting to see what surprises the developers have in store.
The Walking Dead games are based on the comics written by Robert Kirkman, and features a parallel story to the one seen in the comic book and television series. Players are forced to make big decisions about how to survive in a zombie infested world, and these decisions can drastically affect what happens to the story. The first season for the game consisted of five downloadable episodes, the same as the second season. The 400 Days DLC links the two sets of episodes together.
