Demi Moore Sells 5-Bedroom NY Penthouse for $75 Million; Get Details of the Property Here
"It is the grandest residence in the south tower, the one that sits above all the others, a mansion in the clouds, and it is the largest intact park-facing residence at the San Remo with private outdoor space."
If this description from Adam D. Modlin of the Modlin Group, who reps actress Demi Moore for this listing, was spot on, then it's not quite surprising why this five-bedroom, 7.5-bath New York luxury home commands a hefty price of $75 million.
Demi Moore, who purchased the property back in the 90's with then husband and fellow Hollywood A-lister, Bruce Willis, is now listing the 7,000-square-foot triplex on the market, according to a Zillow blog.
The property also comes with a maisonette with two beds and two baths situated on the first level. It was renovated by the ex-couple to sport a Southwestern Mission motif. You can check out some photos here.
The house features a grand foyer spanning two levels in height, a 36-by-22-foot living room, a library, kitchen, and breakfast room. An entertainment area and a guest loft can be found on the third level. The property also has a "1,500 square feet of terraces with sweeping views of the city and Central Park," according to the blog.
The 52-year-old actress, with a net worth of $150 million as per CelebrityNetWorth, was best known for her performances in films such as "Striptease", "A Few Good Men", "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle", "Indecent Proposal", and "Disclosure", the Realty Today also reports.
On her reason why she's trying to unload the gorgeous property, Demi Moore said that the "apartment is too magnificent not to be lived in full time." And, to live there full time is something she wasn't able to do because she also spends the majority of her time in her other homes, as told by the New York Times.
Meanwhile, Carter B. Horsley of the The City Review dubbed the San Remo as "one of the world's greatest residential skyscrapers," and New York City's most beautiful apartment building, offering its residents the opportunity to live in one of the most prestigious addresses.
The luxurious tower of San Remo has become a landmark in the city with its twin-spires design by the famed New York architect Emery Roth in 1929. Dubbed as "The Celebrity Building," it has also been home to past and present celebrity owners such as Steven Spielberg, Tiger Woods, Donna Karan, Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton, and Steve Jobs among others, the Curbed New York notes. And, that could also justify the exorbitant (at least for the ordinary folks) price tag of $75 million.
