iPhone 7 Release Date & Price: How Specs & Features of iOS 9 Device Could Destroy All Rivals [Rumors]

By Staff| May 11, 2015

Consumers appear to have cherished the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus since their introduction in September. This insight is supported by Apple's sales of 74.5 million iPhones in Q1 2015, a 41% increase year-over-year for iPhone sales, TechCrunch reported.

CEO Tim Cook said in a press release, "We'd like to thank our customers for an incredible quarter, which saw demand for Apple products soar to an all-time high."

"Our revenue grew 30 percent over last year to $74.6 billion, and the execution by our teams to achieve these results was simply phenomenal," Cook added.

The Cupertino giant specifically attributed this success to iPhone and Mac sales, including the record performance of the App Store. Considering these figures, the hype over the company's next iteration of its iconic smartphone has grown undoubtedly stronger.

Today, speculations aimed at the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6c and iPhone 7 are all over the web, with industry analysts making different predictions about their fate. In particular, Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst and renowned tipster from KGI Securities, has predicted that Apple will head straight to the iPhone 7.

Indeed, the iPhone 7 looks to be an unstoppable thing, if we are to look at recent reports. Though Apple has not confirmed the device's existence -- convention has given birth to its name -- rumors are pointing to an ultimate flagship that brings ideal specs and features altogether.

Simply, if we are to believe in recent talks, the iPhone 7 is the phone of the future.

As a matter of fact, the device's name has already been cited in a very short film called "Upgrade," Network World noted. The short production is directed by Andrey Alistratov and Hazuki Aikawa.

Created by Noka Films, "Upgrade" tells the story of "a young woman who is experiencing an embarrassing malfunction with her older model of the iPhone and is desperately seeking an upgrade."

In its recent article, The Inquisitr expects to see the iPhone 7 in about five months' time, which puts us to a date somewhere in October. "No matter what the iPhone 7 is like, you can bet there will be millions camping out across the world the morning the new iPhone is released," the outlet wrote.

With regards to specs and features, AppleInsider has stumbled on a freshly-published patent that depicts future iPhone displays as capable of transmitting invisible information. Data are expected to be read by machines.

According to ValueWalk, reports have already indicated features purported in iOS 9. With the operating system expected to arrive in the WWDC 2015, the iPhone 7 is easily seen shipping with the software.

Allegedly built on special aluminum, the iPhone 7 is expected to pack a dual-camera set-up, a bezel-free 4.7- / 5.5-inch sapphire screen alternative, an A9 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB starting storage, wireless charging support, Force Touch sensor and waterproofing abilities. It is believed to sell for at least $649.

Armed with these specs and an upgraded iOS, can the iPhone 7 conquer all the other flagships? Only Apple can really tell.
