'The Flash' Season 1 Episode 22 Promo, Spoilers & Air Date: What to Expect in 'Rogue Air'
Tuesday's episode of CW's "The Flash" highlighted the vicious gorilla Grodd as well as the latest threat of the Reverse Flash. Next week's episode titled "Rogue Air" will see The Flash/Barry reach out to backup reinforcements to stop Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne from executing his evil plans.
The plot synopsis of "Rogue Air" reads, as quoted by Flickering Myth: "As Wells (Tom Cavanagh) once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), for help. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) warn Barry that Cold can't be trusted. True to form, Cold has his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash gets reinforcements - Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (guest star Robbie Amell)."

Aside from Miller's Captain Cold, fans will also see DC villains in the penultimate episode, such as Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre), Peek-A-Boo (Britne Oldford), Rainbow Raider (Paul Anthony), Deathbolt (Doug Jones), and Anthony Carrigan as Kyle Nimbus a.k.a The Mist, who also appears on "Gotham" as Victor Zsasz, Movie Pilot listed.
It's still unknown how these characters' appearances will play out on "The Flash." The villains are the "current inhabitants of the Pipeline prison" and fans shouldn't be surprised if the bad guys went public after "Rogue Air." Movie Pilot noted that Weather Wizard could join forces with Captain Cold, "taking their rightful place in the Rogues team."
The news outlet also noted that the repercussions of the particle accelerator could once again come into view. One consequence pointed out by Movie Pilot might possibly lead to "Flashpoint" and cause a hole in time. Wells could also jumpstart the particle accelerator to regain his speed.
The trailer also showed that The Flash is still too slow to catch the Reverse Flash. The superhero's capability of breaking the time barrier means that he can actually go faster than his opponent, but he still doesn't know how to access that level of speed. Wells, in contrast, is unable to tap into the time barrier, but he can sustain a consistently faster speed than Barry.
"Rogue Air" is written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing and directed by Doug Aarniokoski. The episode is set to air on May 12, Tuesday at 8 P.M. EST on The CW, Superhero Hype noted.
