‘Arrow’ & ‘The Flash’ Spinoff ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ Picked Up by CW! Cast & Plot Details Here
The last few episodes for "Arrow" and "The Flash" are really very intense now that their respective seasons are wrapping up, and it seems that CW knows that fans just can't get enough. The spinoff that everyone has been hoping to happen is definitely on the way to the small screen for 2015-2016, and it's going to be called "Legends of Tomorrow."
As noted by The Wrap, the new show will star several characters seen on "Arrow" and "The Flash" including Victor Garber as one-half of Firestorm, Brandon Routh as ATOM, Caity Lotz as The Canary, Dominic Purcell as Heatstroke, and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold. Newcomers will also be welcomed, Entertainment Weekly reported, and among them are Arthur Darvill as the time-traveling Rip Hunter, Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson, and Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl.
Deadline noted that "Legends of Tomorrow" will be the second DC pickup for next season, the other one being "Supergirl". For fans already excited to know what the spinoff will be about, the official plot description read, "When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
Entertainment Weekly also pointed out that with "Legends of Tomorrow" slated for the fall season, producer Greg Berlanti will have four projects under his belt --- "Arrow", "The Flash" and "Supergirl" being the other three. The news outlet also said that the latest DC pickups are just the tip of the long line of superhero and comic book properties that are on television.
Warner Bros, for instance, has "Arrow", "The Flash", "Supergirl", "iZombie", and "Gotham", with "Constantine" still being reconsidered for a renewal.
ABC is also in the discussion for Marvel shows, with "Agents of SHIELD" likely to be renewed, and "Agent Carter" and the "SHIELD" spinoff still a question mark at this point, Entertainment Weekly added.
Even Netflix is upping their game in the comic book crowd, with "Daredevil", "Jessica Jones". "Luke Cage", "Iron Fist", and team-up series "The Defenders" also making their mark.
What do you think of all these Superhero series so far, are you excited for them, or are networks overdoing it?
