Maroon 5 Frontman Adam Levine Sugar-Bombed Before ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Appearance!
For some unknown reason, someone thought it's cool to attack "The Voice" coach Adam Levine with powdered sugar.
According to TMZ, the Maroon 5 singer was taking time to greet his fans outside the studio of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," when, out of nowhere, a man carried out his plan, leaving one side of Levine's face covered with sugar. As much as this could be an act of (weird) adoration, a protest on behalf of a group, or a crazy prank, the star was not happy about it, as apparent in the photos that the spectators captured and posted on Instagram.
ET Online noted that the person who threw the bag of sugar has already been arrested. He has been identified as Navid Farsi, The Los Angeles Police Department told E! News. The news outlet added that the same man threw a rock at --- who else --- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson last week.
As he's following this particular train of thought, ET Online noted that it seems like he is generally into puns, since Levine's band, Maroon 5, also had a single titled "Sugar."
Levine has had a series of bizarre moments lately, considering that several weeks ago, a crazed fan charged on the concert stage in Anaheim, California, in order to get up close and personal with the singer. He told the crowd after the incident, "It's just weird to be, like, in the moment, ya know? And you're singing, and your eyes are closed, and you have this beautiful moment. And then the next thing you know someone's f*cking in your face. It's super terrifying."
Now, there are questions raised here: is the man who attacked Adam (and The Rock) just a prankster, does Adam attract a lot of crazed fans, or is this how some people react to celebrities nowadays? It can be recalled that a few years ago, Kim Kardashian was pelted with flour by a woman while the reality star was on the red carpet for an event.
Fans of Levine, however, were sympathetic to his plight, as one wrote on Instagram, "We were all meeting him talking to him and some guy ran up on him and threw powder all over him!!! Security tackled the guy down and arrested him. Adam walked off, that guy ruined it for all the fans he was greeting."
A witness also told CNN, "It looked like he wanted to fight the guy," Laura Tijerina, who was waiting for an autograph at the time, said. "I think this guy had it planned. It was a brown bag with tape around it, which was weird. I just saw powder everywhere. It was just so quick."
