iPod Touch 6th Generation Release Date: The Latest Specs, Features & Price Details Here! [Rumors]
Every year, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been releasing a slew of devices: smartphones, MacBook, iPads and more, but in the last couple of years, the iPod has taken the back seat. That may soon change, according to rumors.
Apple Inc. has not released any information about the iPod, as Realty Today noted. The iPod's last release was back in 2012. Since then, there have been several Apple Inc. events and the company never mentioned the device.
But, in a report, Master Herald claimed that iPod fans will see the new Apple iPod Touch Generation soon, and it will be a combination of the features of the iPod Touch 5th Generation and today's latest iPhones.
As you can recall, iPod Touch 5th Generation had a satisfactory reception compared to the success of its predecessors due to its little improvements. In addition, the device was not able to compete with larger iPhones featuring capabilities of a music player, making it only a second choice to the iPhone.
With this, the news outlet stated that Apple Inc. will make sure that the new iPod will no longer be a second choice gadget, and the company is reportedly determined to put the flagship music player back in the market.
Although Apple has not confirmed the iPod Touch 6th Generation launch, rumored specs and features have been the fans' interest online, as noted in communities and threads. Some of these rumored features include water resistance, iPhone's Siri features, Apple Pay and an A9 microprocessor with iOS 9. The iPod Touch 6th Generation is also speculated to be available in six different colors namely silver, pink, red, blue, space gray, and yellow, with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen size versions to choose from and an additional Retina display in both.
Moreover, Venture Capital Post noted that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will also be available in the upcoming iPod, with longer battery life, an 8 MP iSight camera and 1GB RAM expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. Compatibility to the iWatch is another feature that will surely make it a hit among techies.
Regarding its release date, the outlet stated that Apple Inc. is planning to officially launch the iPod Touch 6th Generation in September 2015 together with its latest iPhones. The price will reportedly range from $250 to $300 depending on the variant.
