Lionel Messi Announces Second Baby on Instagram! Gender Already Known?
Lionel Messi took to Instagram to announce that he and his partner Antonella Roccuzzo are having their second child.
In an adorable post shared on his official Instagram page, the Barcelona star wrote: "Waiting for you baby! We love you." An accompanying photo featured a pregnant Roccuzzo with their 2-year-old son Thiago kissing and hugging her belly. Check out the snapshot below.
Argentine newspaper Clarin revealed that the couple is already aware of their second child's gender. Daily Mail reported that Messi and Roccuzzo already have a name picked out for their upcoming baby boy. The couple reportedly selected the name Benjamin, the same name the football superstar's international teammate and good friend Sergio Aguero chose for his own son.
Messi and Roccuzzo's first-born son, Thiago, was born in November 2012, with the child's handprints tattooed on the 27-year-old athlete's calf, Daily Mail noted.
The three-time Ballon d'Or winner currently enjoys Barcelona reaching the semifinals of the Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain earlier in April, Washington Post wrote. The football club will attempt to advance in the finals when they match against Bayern Munich next week.
Barcelona's game against Getafe saw Messi being commended for his Panenka penalty. The Independent reported that Panenka "originated the chipped spot-kick technique as he audaciously clinched Czechoslovakia's shoot-out victory over Germany in the 1976 European Championship final."
"And the former midfielder anointed Messi as the best of his many imitators after the Barcelona forward deceived Vicente Guaita for the first of his two goals, and his team's six without reply, in Tuesday's resounding Primera Division win," the news outlet added.
Messi's bold penalty also gave way to Barcelona scoring in the game, Sky Sports wrote. Czech footballer Antonin Panenka, 66, praised Messi's strategy in an interview at radio station RAC1.
"The execution was the best I've ever seen -- not too powerful, central, good elevation," the former footballer said, as quoted by Sky Sports. "Technically the goal was impressive. It is a further demonstration of (Messi's) quality."
