'GTA 6' Now in Development? The Latest Details on Release Date, Location & Gameplay Features Here [Rumors]
"GTA 5" has finally been released for PC two weeks ago, and now, players and fans of the game are churning out rumors about "GTA 6" which is believed to be already on its development stage.
Franchise developer Rockstar Games has not yet released any announcement for the rumored upcoming game but Master Herald said that this does not mean that the company has no intention of releasing it.
According Ecumenical News, "GTA 6" is expected to be "much bigger" than its current franchise but it may take about five years for it to be developed since Rockstar is still mapping the entire United States for the game.
There have been requests to change the setting of "GTA" back to London but in an interview with The Guardian in 2013, Rockstar's Dan Houser explained:
"I think for us, my gut feeling is, GTA London was cool for the time, but games were more limited then. These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it would be a GTA game. I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don't think it would be a GTA necessarily.
"There are so many games we'd like to make that we just don't have the bandwidth to make at the moment. But we always think, well the future is long and varied, and that's what the future's for. Speaking for myself – and normally I'd be as militant about saying 'we' as much as possible, because it certainly isn't only me at all, thank god – but my own personal feeling is that GTA is America. With this game, I think, we're very happy with the location. It let us do something iconic."
Ecumenical News added that there have been assumptions that the game will be set in the Middle East where the character will fight terrorists based from a fan-made trailer. It also noted the possibility that it may be set up in the U.S. state of Texas or Oregon.
As for the expectations of the players, the International Business Times (IBT) said the gaming world is clamoring for a central female character on the upcoming game installment.
"GTA 6 seems like a good pedestal for Rockstar to finally introduce a central female character. For the next GTA, we would really like to see a female protagonist who would keep ticking the storyline with her own adventures (and misadventures)," the IBT report furthered.
It also noted that the game needs a storyline that will surely engage the players into completing the missions and proceeding with the other levels of the game. A change of mentality, according to IBT, could compel a really "epic storyline" for the game which will make players hooked into the upcoming installment.
Aside from these upgrades, fans are also hoping for better cop A.I. as the policemen in the game sometimes do not act the way they are expected to.
"It's as if they were made to blatantly take punishment of all sorts. But most of the times, they are killed by their own silly mistakes. Sometimes they can't climb up ladders and miss a step and fall crashing to their deaths, while other times they are run over by cars (they won't even move out of the way)," noted IBT.
With all these considered, the gaming world is up for some exciting changes on the GTA franchise as Rockstar will hopefully incorporate the wishlists of the players to the development of the game.
