LG G5 Release Date & Price: Top 5 Specs & Features According to Rumors
The LG G4 isn't officially out in the market yet and is slated for an April 28 launch date, but rumors about the G5 are already popping up everywhere.
We compiled a list of the G5's top specs and features. Note that these are all rumors for now and official news from LG is yet to be announced.
An Impressive High-Res Shooter
It's a common feat for smartphones nowadays to be equipped with powerful front and back cameras. LG G5 decidedly jumps into the competition with a back camera that is speculated to come in at around 20-30 MP with an 8-10 MP front shooter, LG G5 Update wrote. With both the G3 and G4 graced with remarkable cameras, it's no doubt that the GB will have the same fate as well.
A 3D camera feature is also rumored to be included in the device, LG-G5.com added.
5G Connectivity
The features of a 4G connectivity common in the latest handsets can do wonders in download speeds and in a gadget's performance. So it's pretty obvious that the G5 coming in the rumored 5G connectivity would provide better aspects in wireless technology. This provides a lot of exciting possibilities, but according to LG-G5.com, "The technology is in place, but we are uncertain if the new 5G wireless technology will be in place in time for the LG G5 release."
Doubled Security
There are also speculations that the G5 would come with an integrated fingerprint scanner running side by side with a retina eye scanner that would give users security twice over, LG-G5.com reported.
Advanced Concept
According to the news outlet, the LG G5's concept "looks to improve on the speed, performance, efficiency, durability, color options, pricing points, and multi-tasking capabilities." Rumors also claim that a premium version of the handset will come with a bendable display packing in unique features of the device, LG-G5.com noted. Other versions include a plastic variant and a full-metal body.
More Efficient Battery Life
Phones Review reported that the G5 will have a 4000 mAh battery capable of full charging in just one hour, with each dual speakers bringing 1 watt of power. ILGG5.com added that the device will have a "better battery backup" and a "no heating issue."
As for the other features speculated to be packed in the G5, LG-G5.com reported that whatever current version by Android could be the handset's OS. An internal memory of 16, 32, and 64 GB, and external memory with optional micro SD card to 128 GB is also expected, as well as an Octa-core 2.9 ghz Snapdragon Qualcomm 810 processor.
A 5.6 inch Sapphire screen display and a Quad HD 4K resolution in at least 600 ppi could also be present in the G5, the news outlet wrote.
LG G5 Update speculated that the handset could be bought at a price tag ranging from $1000 to $1200. As for the release date, the G5 could be released sometime around October to December this year.
