Hungry? Eat With Apple CEO Tim Cook for $100K - And Get These Perks
A dish's price may be worth its ingredients, but the way it's presented -- and whom you share it with -- could well contribute to your final bill.
For instance, Apple's Tim Cook has participated in a charity auction that attempts to raise funds for the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, MarketWatch reported. The auction is done through fundraising site Charitybuzz.
The auction will allow the lucky winner to dine with the CEO for lunch, in an estimated value of $100,000.
According to Charitybuzz, the lot will be valid for two people, in a privileged experience that lasts for an hour. The meal's cost is absolutely included, but travel and accommodations are not. The lot expires a year from the close of the auction.
Proceeds for the auction will end on May 6, ABC News noted. Interestingly, the winner will also get two VIP passes to a future Apple Keynote address. This appears to be the third auction Cook has rendered time for the organization's benefit.
As told by Bidness Etc, Cook has participated in a 2013 auction worth 60 minutes of coffee date, raking $610,000. Last year, he brought over $300,000.
As of press time, the bidding has skyrocketed to $165,000, in a total of 18 bids.
Meanwhile, ValueWalk cited Cook's inclusion in Time's "100 Most Influential People" list, following his last entry in 2012. In 2014, however, the CEO was named the publication's "Person of the Year."
Cook's segment has been penned by John Lewis, a civil rights leader and Democratic Congressman from Georgia. He described the CEO as a "courageous innovator."
According to Lewis, Cook has succeeded in pushing Apple to great lengths, through grace, courage and "an unabashed willingness to be his own man." The author is convinced that Cook is setting a new business standard. Of course, followers would remember his advocacy in consumer privacy and LGBT rights.
Cook joins the list of influentials such as Pope Francis, Emma Watson, Barack Obama and Taylor Swift, ValueWalk added.
Apple is speculated to unveil many different products soon, including the12.9-inch iPad Pro, iPhone 7, iPad mini 4, iPad Air 3 and the sixth-generation iPod touch. To date, the Cupertino giant has not confirmed details surrounding these alleged devices, but with the 2015 WWDC approaching, fans are expecting to hear more.
