Robert Lewandowski To Bayern Munich Transfer Rumors 2013: Borussia Manager Jurgen Klopp Claims That No Deal Has Been Made
Now that Neymar's transfer saga has come to an end, Robert Lewandowski's has started to heat up. Rumors recently circulated online that the striker would leave Borussia Dortmund this summer and head to rival Bayern Munich. However, manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to quell the rising fire and end speculation.
According to ESPN, the manager has announced that there is no deal between the two German rivals for the Polish forward.
"We will see what happens. Anything is possible, but I can work with every scenario," Klopp told Bild. "The only strange thing is that everybody is acting as if the issue has already been resolved. [Outgoing Bayern coach] Jupp Heynckes says this, his agent says that -- and we don't even have an offer for him. What's all that about? The way things are going is not very pretty."
Regarding the rumors, Klopp stated that he will act to minimize the information that gets out.
"We will ensure in the coming days that a line is drawn under the speculation," he asserted.
Lewandowski's agent Cezary Kucharski recently replied "yes" when asked whether his client was going to play for Bayern Munich next summer. Kucharski also revealed that the two German rivals were talking.
Lewandowski is coming off a tremendous season with Borussia Dortmund. He scored 24 goals in the German Bundesliga and added 10 in the UEFA Champions League. His biggest performance of the year was a four-goal effort against Real Madrid in the Champions league semifinal.
Borussia will likely look to dissuade Lewandowski from moving to Bayern Munich. The team has already lost Mario Götze to its top rival and would suffer immensely if its top striker were to cross rivalry lines.
Bayern Munich recently defeated Dortmund 2-1 in the Champions league final. Lewandowski did not score in that match.
