Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Popularized by 'X-Men' GF Olivia Munn?
With actress Olivia Munn joining the upcoming Marvel film "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Psylocke, it is said that eventually, she might be more popular than her boyfriend, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Film director Bryan Singer recently announced on his Instagram page Munn's inclusion in the cast of the Apocalypse which will be shown on theaters on May 27, 2016.
According to PostCrescent, Munn has just finished HBO's "The Newsroom" which ran for three seasons and appeared in the film "Mortdecai" which also starred Johnny Depp.
Sports World News noted that with all the attention and opportunities Munn is having, Rodgers may "pretty soon not be the most popular person in his own relationship." It said that the Packers quarterback is considered one of the best in football and has made a name for himself in the NFL.
"If the new film does as well as many of the previous Marvel movies, then Munn could very well be a bigger household name than her NFL superstar boyfriend by next summer," the Sports World News report added.
How they met
In an interview with Conan O'Brien, Munn admitted that when she met Rodgers, she was not aware that he's a well-known NFL player. "I had no idea. When I met him, I said, 'So, what do you do?' And he's like, 'Oh, I play football.' I go, 'Cool, what college?' He's like, 'Oh no, I play professionally.' I go, 'Cool, what position?' He's like, 'Quarterback'," she said.
She added that initially, she was quite smitten with the NFL player's good looks and she didn't really think about what he does for a living.
"That was kinda it, not knowing that he's like, you know, Super Bowl MVP, or any of those things. All I saw was that he was really attractive. I didn't really care what he did," she added.
The two reportedly started dating early last year. Before that, Munn had a two-year relationship with actor Joel Kinnaman. US Magazine noted that Munn was also linked to Bryan Greenberg and Chris Pine while Rodgers had been attached to Jessica Szohr and Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum.
When asked how it feels like to be Munn's boyfriend, Rodgers told ESPN Wisonsin: "I'm real happy in my relationship. I understand what comes with it... The last couple years, I've learned a lot about perspective and what's important," Rodgers added.
Despite her busy schedule as an actress, Munn ensures that she spends time with Rodgers. She's been spotted watching Packers' matches and cheering for her boyfriend.
"I think I'm a good fan. I'm there and I'm screaming a lot. I think it's really important to scream and my acupuncturist told me energy follows thought. That was a very Hollywood sentence for you guys," Munn told Seth Meyers, as noted on US Magazine.
