Xiaomi Mi 6 Coming to the US? Release Date, Specs, Features & Price Details Here [Rumors]
Xiaomi Inc., a privately owned electronics company based in China, surprised industry watchers as it was proclaimed to hold a new title in Guinness Book of Records. According to Ars Technica , Xiaomi has claimed a world record for "Most mobile phones sold on a single online platform within 24 hours". The sale reached as high as 2.11 million in as short as 24 hours. The said profit happened in one of Xiaomi's "flash sales" during its fifth birthday celebration when the company put large numbers of previously "out-of-stock" devices up for sale.
There have been speculations that the company will be going global starting with the release of Xiaomi Mi5 this year. According to Android Info, Mi5 will be featured in many European countries and it looks like their flagship next year, the rumored Mi6, will be invading the U.S.
On the other hand, according to TFG due to the success of Xiaomi in 2014, the Chinese phone manufacturer is on the fast track to becoming the world's third largest smart phone manufacturer with its rivals Apple and Samsung, having a sale of over 60 million smart phones in the said year.
Mi5, Mi6 features
Ongoing rumors from Day Herald claim that the Mi5 will have sport a 5.0 inch or 5.5 inch display with QHD resolution of 1, 560 x 1, 440 pixels, powered by a 64-bit Octa Core QualcommSnapdragon 810 processor along with a RAM configuration of 3GB or 4GB. The latest Android Lollipop 5.0 platform with Xiaomi's own MIUI will be running its software and user interface.
Meanwhile, Mi6 is rumored to still remain consumer friendly when it comes to its financial aspect. The said smartphone will cost only half the prices below of its competitors such as Apple, LG, Samsung, HTC, etc., as cited on its website. In addition, Mi6 is getting a slight increase in size as the Mi5 with 4096 x 2160 resolution. Though the processor will be the same as Mi5, it is said to be faster with 2.5 - 2.7 GHZ. The Mi6 is thought to have a metal body design with a touch of glass on the back. The camera, of course, won't be missed in the phone upgrades. A 23MP rear camera and a 7 MP front camera will be featured with an enhanced Optical Image Stabilization Plus. Other enhancements leaked were wireless rapid charging, iris or retina eye scanner, two Micro SD card slots, and more.
