Penelope Cruz, Kate Moss & More Spoofed by French Stylist! See Photos Here

French stylist and journalist Nathalie Croquet has spoofed high-fashion campaigns in a series of photographs.

Croquet, who also modeled for the pictures, recreated major fashion and beauty advertising campaigns, which featured famous names such as actress Penelope Cruz, Kate Moss, Natalia Vodianova, Edie Campbell, Freja Beha Erichsen, and supermodel Gisele Bündchen, The Independent wrote.

The snapshots are the result of Croquet's project and exhibition called Spoof, which showcases around 12 of the parody pictures, The Independent noted.

To give more flair to her creations, Croquet copied the poses and hair and makeup styling "with seriously impressive attention-to-detail of famous faces," the news outlet added. Daniel Schweizer photographed Croquet for the project, snapshots of which are posted on her Instagram page for all her almost 10,000 followers to see.

Croquet worked in the fashion industry as a former photo editor at high-end companies such as Biba and Jean Paul Gaultier, The Independent reported.

As Grazia pointed out, Croquet often uses the hashtag #humour when she posts the photos on Instagram, but the project was obviously done with a serious amount of work and dedication down to every last detail. From the exact shade of pink in the Eric Bompard ad up to the blood-colored lipstick she was wearing in the Givenchy spoof, she made sure that the recreations are on point.

Even though the project mostly focuses on providing entertainment, Croquet said in an interview with BuzzFeed that she wants people to look at her work and think about topics like gender, retouching, and aging.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Croquet said that she "doesn't really see" herself when looking at the images.

"You know, like how you don't recognize your voice in a telephone message," she added. "Women, consumption, retouching, cosmetics, aging, beauty, those all come to mind, but truly those issues are up for debate. I feel people need a more spiritual approach to life, and good fun. I'm happy to give them that, even if I'm just making fun of myself."

The French stylist also revealed that she is now starting on a second batch of the spot-on photos for Spoof, which debuted last summer in France.
