'Batman vs Superman' Movie Trailer, Cast & News: Costumes, Preparation & Everything We Know So Far
By now, we all know that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent (AKA Superman), Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. But, details about the movie's plot have been scarce, except for some hints which director Zack Snyder has shared through interviews and his social media accounts.
For example, when it comes to Eisenberg's role, the director spoke highly of the actor's portrayal of the infamous character. Indie Wire noted that "The Social Network" star is ready to take on the role of the villain, bald head and all. Surprisingly, as The Wrap noted, Eisenberg looked like a worthy opponent, and probably ready to prove his critics wrong.
Snyder told Entertainment Weekly about Eisenberg's Lex: "He's not any of the Lexes that you've seen, that's for sure."
He added, "Our Lex is disarming and he's not fake. He says what he believes and he says what's on his mind."
So what else do we know about the upcoming film? Here's everything, as noted by Cinema Blend:
1) The story will start off with The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel at odds with each other. In fact, they will more likely be enemies, and this has been suggested at the Comic-Con last year. However, the reason for their beef is still unknown, so there is no way to know how this affects the rest of the major supporting characters.
2) The heroes will be donning costumes designed from scratch, and despite Batman's no-killing policy, his costume and his Batmobile are armed with weapons that could definitely take down his enemies. Superman, on the other hand, will don a darker costume than what he wore on "Man of Steel," perhaps to fit in with the gritty Gotham scenario.
3) Cyborg will also be making an appearance, Ray Fisher's role will most likely have a very small part in the film, as it could serve as a platform to catapult his presence in the future Justice League movie that DC has planned.
4) Gal Gadot, who is playing Wonder Woman, had to prepare for her role many months before shooting was set to start. She said on Superhero Type that preparations to become a heroine were "very intensive." Speaking of preparations, Warner Bros. is readying the release of the trailer, which they will be releasing with "Mad Max: Fury Road" on May 15.
5) Of course Batman cannot be without his loyal butler, and yes, Alfred Pennyworth, who has been with Bruce Wayne for most of his life, is definitely going to make an appearance through Jeremy Irons.
6) A new character that is made for the film will also be introduced, although it's not quite certain which side she'll be on. Holly Hunter will be a part of the "Man of Steel" sequel with a yet to be announced role.
"Batman v Superman" is set to be released in theaters on March 25, 2016.
