LG G4 Release Date, Specs & Price: Out in Six Cities This Month? Different Processors Expected!
LG is expected to unveil the long-rumored LG G4 flagship next month, CNET reported. The device has been the apple of rumors' eyes for quite some time, leaving prospects delighted at the thought of its pending arrival.
As told by CNET, LG has already sent invites for simultaneous events happening in six cities: New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul. Considering time zones, the occasion falls on both April 28 and 29.
The most recent LG G4 reports sprang from protective case leaks. GSMArena took note of images courtesy of Verus, manufacturer of mobile accessories.
The leaks appear to suggest that the next smartphone will sport a sightly-curved display, confirming earlier speculations that peg so. The design is also noted to hint similarities from the LG G3.
According to GSMArena, the actual, physical cases are slated for release on April 30. Apparently, the flagship has already launched by this time, so prospects can better decide whether or not to house the smartphone in one.
While it may not be of best interest, an unnamed source has revealed that the LG G4 will pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 SoC processor, Android Authority said. Such claim kills earlier expectations of a Snapdragon 810 chip.
Unfortunately, the same source reportedly claimed that Qualcomm "won't be able" to patch overheating problems harbored by the chip.
Android Authority also cited a GFXBench listing for an LG G4 model (F500x) that has been marked with a Snapdragon 808 processing package.
The LG G4 is touted to come with a 5.5-inch display, a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD), 3 GB of RAM, 3500 mAh battery, 32 GB / 64 GB storage options and microSD support, Android Pit cited. Its main camera is pegged to capture at 15 MP, while its front snapper is believed to shoot at 7 MP.
Purported camera features include phase detection / laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face detection and HDR.
Expected to power the device is a 3,500 mAh battery. With an unknown weight, purported dimensions come at 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9 mm. Alleged connectivity features include HSPA, 4G, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi.
Android Pit is convinced that the handset, under the hood, will be running Optimus UI with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
With powerful specs and features, the LG G4 could retail around $1,000 USD, lgg4updates.com predicted. Until LG leaves a word, it is best to take these speculations with healthy pinches of salt.
