With "NHL 16" coming late this year, fans and gamers are now wondering who will be on the cover of the new installment.

An earlier NHL 16 Game report claimed that the upcoming installment is expected to be unveiled in June, with its release on PS4 and Xbox One rumored to be in September. The NHL series publishes each version yearly with its latest being the "NHL 15," which, according to a separate NHL 16 Game report, was "loved" by gamers.

Here are the top players being predicted to be on the cover of the upcoming game release:

1. Brock Nelson

Playing for the New York Islanders, Nelson was drafted by the team as the 30th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Forecaster said he has "excellent size for the center position," noting that his hands are also his asset especially when he is playing around the net.

2. Nick Foligno

The Columbus Blue Jackets player is noted for his outstanding work ethic and grit. Forecaster said he is well-rounded and very much willing to learn and improve.

"[He] pays the price to put up offensive numbers and can play anywhere needed, and any role," Forecaster added.

3. Tyler Seguin

According to NHL 16 Game, Seguin was selected the second overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and finished the 2011-2012 seasons in Boston "with a plus-minus of +34 which is the second highest in NHL." He currently plays as the center of the Dallas Stars where he is considered "one of its finest."

4. Brent Burns

The Canadian defenseman is currently playing for the San Jose Sharks. NHL 16 Game said he previously played for the Minnesota Wild team but returned to the Sharks for the 2014-2015 sessions.

5. Tanner Pearson

Though he is out indefinitely because of a broken leg, Pearson remains to be one of the players who can possibly appear on the cover of the game. NHL.com earlier reported that the rookie forward hurt his feet when he crashed during a game last January. He is a great loss to Los Angeles Kings as he is the second-leading goal scorer recording 12 in 42 games for the current season.

Aside from the player who will be featured on the cover of the game, possible new offerings such as added offense and reduced injuries, have also piqued gamers interest, per Operation Sports.

Latino Post said other expected changes on the upcoming release include: a coach's challenge, All-Star Game revamp and relocation which could further improve the gameplay.
