‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ PS4 Xbox One PC Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: Sequel or Reboot? What We Know So Far [Rumors]
Dubbed as the "best-looking Rockstar game to date," "Red Dead Redemption" has truly captured the hearts of many players, most specially that fans are now looking forward to its sequel. For quite some time, word on "Red Dead Redemption 2" has caught the attention of many followers, but it looks like the sequel may not arrive just yet.
Are we getting a revamped title instead?
According to Gamepur, Rockstar has neither denied nor confirmed the development of "Red Dead Redemption 2" or "Red Dead Redemption Remastered."
At this point, it may only be speculated which title becomes the next entry in the franchise. Note that there had also been talks surrounding a "Red Dead Revolution" branding.
Late in 2014, Rockstar expressed pleasure over hearing great enthusiasm for the title, "It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the 'Red Dead' series, and nearly 5 years after Red Dead Redemption's release(!)."
"As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption,' 'Bully' and 'L.A. Noire,' we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," the company added.
Last month, things took another exciting turn when Rockstar generously gave interesting insights to followers. For those who haven't heard, the publisher has confirmed that new releases from its "proven franchises" will be coming.
Needless to say, we know for a fact that "Red Dead Redemption" stands ground as one of the company's most successful franchises, if sales are to be considered.
In an earlier dialogue, Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick has mentioned of RDR as a "permanent franchise," much like the seemingly-timeless "Grand Theft Auto" series.
VG247.com took note of the CEO's remarks, who said, "We've launched one new successful franchise every year and I would like to keep doing that particularly because I talk about permanent franchises, but not everything is going to be a permanent franchise."
"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that 'GTA' is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or 'Borderlands,' for example, and 'NBA' and others," Zelnick revealed.
These being said, the chances of another "Red Dead" game is predictably high, but we can only get rested once a confirmation is out.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is assumed to arrive for the PS4, Xbox One and PC in November.
