'Mission Impossible 5' Trailer, Cast & Release Date: Sneak Peek Coming Soon!
Almost nineteen years has passed since the first "Mission: Impossible" film hit the big screen, and it seems that Tom Cruise still has what it takes to be the spy he once was.
The fifth installment seems to be very mysterious, considering that filming is almost ready to wrap up, with still very few details released, and many questions surrounding the film. Not so much as the plot was even made public. Until now, that is.
According to Cross Map, director Christopher McQuarrie granted a brief Q & A on his Twitter account, and as noted by Inquisitr, here are some things that fans should know about the upcoming installment:
1) The ending is filmed in London. Despite rumors at the beginning of the year pointing "MI5" being reworked, McQuarrie noted that they were just preparing the ending had the scenes shot in London.
2) Tom Cruise is getting new leading ladies, because the recently divorced Paula Patton and actress Maggie Q are not going to be back for the fifth installment. However, the men will be back, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner.
3) There is no subtitile yet, but it should be announced soon as McQuarrie confirmed that a sneak peek will be released pretty soon.
Inquisitr also noted that the biggest challenge for the film is time. According to Variety, the premiere for "MI5" has been forwarded five months, with a release date set for July 31, making it stressful for the cast and crew, considering the time constraints on their part.
However, fans can expect a bit of nostalgia from the film, as it is said to give several "nods" to the original 1996 film, with McQuarrie noting that it will also have a flow similar to episodes of the original 1960s television series.
The Collider also noted that fans will know from the trailer (which should be released soon) what McQuarrie wanted to do for "MI5" that hasn't already been done in other stories from the franchise.
The fifth installment of the popular franchise will star Tom Cruise as the highly-skilled secret agent Ethan Hunt, acting alongside Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris as the film's villain, Rebecca Ferguson, Alex Baldwin, Simon McBurney, and Zhang Jingchu.
"Mission: Impossible 5" will premiere in theaters on July 31, 2015.
