Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao: 'The Money' on Fresh ‘$1K per Plate' Diet
To prepare for his upcoming fight with Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr. seems to be paying close to attention to what he eats.
In a report by TMZ, it was noted that the undefeated American boxer is spending $1,000 per plate with a private chef preparing his meal, that means "The Money" could be spending at least $184,000 for the 46 days leading to the fight with Pacman.
TMZ said the chef who has been taking care of Mayweather's diet is none other than Chef Q (Quiana Jeffries).
"My daily schedule for Floyd is 'There is no schedule' ... I am here for him anytime. 24 hours, 7 days a week. If he needs me at 3 a.m., I am there cooking up breakfast," Chef Q told TMZ.
She added that she makes every meal "from scratch" since Mayweather likes to eat fresh food.
"Nothing from bottles or cans because they have different preservatives that are not healthy for your body. His favorite dish is spaghetti or tacos but for the Pacquiao fight, he'll be focusing on high-levels of protein with no carbs -- turkey, chicken, beef and fish ... NO PORK!" the chef explained.
She also claimed that they are also focusing on juicing so she gives Mayweather organic fruit juices.
Chef Q, however expressed concern on Mayweather's craving for fast food but she said that he is determined to get it out of his system.
"He's always been mindful of what he eats but there is something different about this fight," she added.
According to Philstar.com, Mayweather is very much happy with how Chef Q prepares his meals.
"I wouldn't exchange my chef for no (other) chef in the world," the boxer was quoted by Philstar.com as saying.
Even with the expensive price tag of his meals, Mayweather seems to be ready to pay the price just to condition himself for his fight against Pacquiao on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Aside from his determination to beat Pacman, Mayweather also feels like he has more than enough money in the world to spend on his preparation for the megafight.
In 2014, Forbes placed him on top of its annual list of highest paid athletes. He is said to be the first athlete, aside from Tiger Woods, to hit the $100 million threshold in terms of earnings.
With his fight with Pacquiao, Mayweather is expected to earn nine figures for the 12 rounds inside the ring.
