'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Trailer, Cast & Release Date: Penelope Cruz Visits Hubby Javier Bardem
Penelope Cruz paid a visit to her husband Javier Bardem as the actor shoots scenes in Queensland, Australia, for the highly anticipated film installment "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
The actress, who starred in 2011's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," showed off her toned legs while wearing denim shorts and daisy dukes, Just Jared reported. Check out the brunette beauty's photos here.
Cruz and Bardem have been married since 2010 with two children, 18-month old Luna and 3-year-old Leo, Daily Mail reported. The couple first met on the set of Spanish film "Jamon Jamon" when the actress was just 18. Their friendship turned into romance 16 years later while working on Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
It's still unknown whether the brunette beauty will reprise her role in "Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Bardem, who was joined by his co-stars for the filming in Australia, will play as the pirate killer Captain Salazar, Daily Mail noted.
The upcoming movie will see Johnny Depp reprising his role as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow, as well as Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, and Stephen Graham, Cinema Blend wrote. New cast members include Brenton Thwaites, Golshifteh Farahani, and "The Maze Runner" star Kaya Scodelario as the lead actress. The film, slated for release in theaters on July 7, 2017, is directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning.
Several reports have claimed that a series of untoward incidents have slightly delayed the film's production. Cinema Blend wrote that production was interrupted "when a man wearing pirate regalia came on to the set waving a knife around." Just recently, Depp injured his right hand and flew back to the United States to undergo surgery.
According to a separate report from Daily Mail, the 51-year-old actor hurt his hand while go-karting at a private track with five-time MotoGP world champion Mick Doohan. Depp, who married 28-year-old actress and model Amber Heard in February, was seen boarding a private jet headed toward Los Angeles with his bandaged hand.
The news outlet noted that a short delay should be expected for the filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Depp's two-week absence, however, "will only 'minimally' affect production as other scenes are filmed," Daily Mail wrote.
Keira Knightley, who portrayed Elizabeth Swann in the past installments of the popular franchise, has confirmed that she won't return to reprise her character. Orlando Bloom, on the other hand, expressed interest in returning to his Will Turner role and admitted that there have been discussions about the matter, according to IGN.
