'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: Merchandise, Transfer Process & What to Expect
"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will finally be available for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC on Sept. 1, 2015. This will be a worldwide release, as reported by GameSpot.
Konami has confirmed that data from prequel "Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes" may be transferred to the upcoming installment, the Tech Times said. The publisher has acknowledged queries through this infographic.
Data may only be transferred within the same console family. A gamer who has played "Ground Zeroes" in an Xbox 360 can only move his data to an Xbox One or another Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3, on the other hand, can move data to a PlayStation 4 or another PlayStation 3. A backward move (i.e. Xbox One to Xbox 360) is not possible.
According to the Tech Times, the approach is similar to that used by "Grand Theft Auto V."
Just recently, Amazon has started accepting preorders for the Xbox One and PS4, Ubergizmo.com noted. Priced for $99.99, the Collector's Edition package conveniently wraps a half scale replica of Snake's Bionic Arm, a Collectible SteelBook, a Blu-ray disc with behind-the-scenes documentary and trailers, a map and exclusive packaging.
VG247 took note of another special edition called "Day 1 Edition." This is offered through retail or digital.
Konami has released a teaser for Snake's Bionic Arm. The replica has a length of 50 cm and a weight of 850 g, Cinema Blend wrote. The outlet's author is convinced that the Collector's Edition price is "a really good deal for only $99," comparing it to others that sell for around $129.99 to $149.99.
Lending his voice to Solid Snake, David Hayter has recently tipped on Colonel's appearance, GamingBolt reported.
Asked whether he's playing "Metal Gear Solid 5," the voice actor told Fraggednation, "No, It's too painful. I mean my friend Otacon is doing it, and the Colonel and all these people, so no. I think it will be too painful. It looks beautiful and they have this big epic world but I have got many other things to do than torture myself by playing some other 'Metal Gear' game."
Questioning Paul Eiding's voicing for Colonel Roy Campbell, GamingBolt is convinced that Hayter may have stated a mistake or "knows something that we don't know."
Are you looking forward to play "The Phantom Pain"? How long have you waited for the announcement of its release?
