Premios TVyNovelas 2015: Laura Bozzo a Sore Loser? Walks Out of Award Ceremony
Laura Bozzo walked out of the Premios TVyNovelas 2015 ceremony after losing an award in the category she was nominated in.
According to a report from Latin Times, Bozzo's show, "Laura" went up against "Como Dice El Dicho," "Hermosa Esperanza," and "La Rosa De Guadalupe" in the Best Stand-Alone Program category.
When the winner in the category was announced, Bozzo reportedly "stormed off" and took to Twitter to air her concerns and frustrations, the news outlet noted. She, however, congratulated "Como Dice El Dicho" for winning.
"Congratulations to 'Como Dice El Dice,' the truth is I left early because I had nothing to do there, I felt terrible," the 63-year-old talk show host wrote.
She later added: "It's an event for famous artists. It's really fun to see the judging panel is all from the 'Hoy' show, it's the same circle as always, nothing to do with me." This was in reference to members of the panel who often criticized Bozzo, such as Flor Rubio and Lupita Martinez, Latin Times explained.
In a reply to Enrique Arreola, Bozzo vowed that she will "seriously never going to those things again," referring to the awards ceremony. She also indirectly poked insults to Premios TVyNovelas' hosts Andrea Legarreta and Galilea Montijo, Latin Times reported.
Bozzo continued her rant claiming that "they are the goddesses of the network" and that "they don't even say hi to me."
A few days ago, Bozzo was interviewed by TVyNovelas Magazine and there wasn't any trace of bitterness in the TV host's words.
"This nomination served us well because it is a form of receiving something back for what we do," she said, reported by Latin Times. "We are competing with 'La Rosa de Guadalupe' and 'Como Dice El Dicho,' that are very good shows and very different from mine. Just being nominated is something that makes us happy. Any program that wins will be fine."
When asked if she thinks she would win the prestigious award, Bozzo said, "I don't plan on winning. The only thing that I would like is that one day they would create a category that awards the show that does the most social work."
Premios TVyNovelas honors the best Mexican television productions annually with a special focus on telenovelas. The recently concluded ceremony saw big winner of the night "Yo No Creo En Los Hombres" take home seven awards in total, according to a separate report from Latin Times. "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo," however, won the Best Telenovela award.
