MacBook Pro 2015 Release Date, Specs & Price: To Launch After 'Spring Forward'? UHD Retina Display Tipped [Rumors]
Details surrounding the Apple Watch are most expected from the company's "Spring Forward" event, set to happen in San Francisco today.
Talks centered on other Apple products have not been left for the occasion. At this point, we could only predict that something else steals the limelight from the three-collection wearable.
A lot about Apple is going on in the rumor mills. For quite some time, we've heard of the iPhone 6 refresh (iPhone 6s / iPhone 7), the iPad Pro (aka iPad Air Plus), the iPad Air 3, the iPad Mini 4, the sixth-generation iPod touch and even the iCar (dubbed "Titan"). Needless to say, reports on iOS updates have populated the grapevine community as well.
Reports have also claimed that the "Spring Forward" could unveil the highly-anticipated Retina MacBook Air and 2015 MacBook Pro, though this is best taken with a pinch of salt. Since we're hours away, such information can be easily accepted or dismissed.
Citing information from TechAndPrince, the Ecumenical News wrote that the new MacBook Pro could see its arrival in Sept. 2015. That's six long months away.
The source has mentioned the possible inclusion of an Ultra HD Retina Display, among other features. Also known as the 4K panel, UHD offers a stunning resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, CNET noted.
Pricing for the 2015 MacBook Pro's 13- and 15-inch models are expected to come at $1299 and $1999, respectively.
If you haven't heard yet, the notebook is also purported to have its own Touch ID fingerprint system. Most of Apple's latest products have packed the said technology, so this shouldn't be very surprising. However, note that we're talking of a MacBook here.
If speculations hold truth, the security scanner will be built directly into the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad among Desktop Macs. MacBooks, such as the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, could get it on top of their trackpads.
The new MacBook Pro is believed to pack Intel's new Broadwell chips, better battery life, as well as 8 GB (13-inch model) and 16 GB (15-inch model) of RAM.
Followers would remember that the last MacBook Pro update happened in July 2014. From our previous article, the 2015 version has been rumored to hit the market by April. This appears to be two months from Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, pegged to take place on June 8 to 12.
Aside from the Apple Watch, the 12-inch iPad Pro is expected to be announced, the Gospel Herald said. Catch the presentation through Apple's provided livestream page, kicking off at 10 a.m. PDT.
