‘Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem’ Wii U Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: What We Know So Far [Rumors]
The Wii-U exclusive "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" was already announced in 2013. However, two years later, the title still hasn't arrived, much to the worry of anticipating fans.
That said, it seems only natural to wonder whether it will still land on the platform or vanish into oblivion. Of course, we're crossing our fingers that it goes with the former.
In the meantime, we've curated all that we know about Intelligent Systems and Atlus' RPG title. Ease your anxiety over the long wait, carry on and read along.
First, it seems there's no need to worry, because the game has appeared in Nintendo's recent earnings release. It's official, and you can see it for yourself here.
In January, NZGamer.com reported of the title's listing in Japan, North America and Europe -- three major bases of the gaming world. Though its release date hasn't been specified (as we can only see a "TBD" note), there had been hints as to why we could expect the game before the calendar makes another turn.
While the lack of an official release schedule could be annoying for most loyalists, the title's appearance is absolutely surprising to those who have forgotten. For the record, GamesRadar has even included it in its "100 Most Anticipated Games of 2015," predicting that they "won't see anything new of this until E3."
As you may already know, E3, formally known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, happens on June 16-18, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
As written by GameFAQS, "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" is also known as "Shin Megami Tensei meets Fire Emblem" (JP). Interestingly, it's also noted for an Australian release this year.
According to NZGamer, Nintendo producer Hitoshi Yamagami was asked about the game in last year's E3. As it turned out, the rep informed that the game is still in development -- but it's scheduled. Perhaps that's all we needed to hear.
Those wondering about the massive hype over the game ought to learn that it's been wanted for one major reason: It's an obvious crossover between "Shin Megami Tensei" and "Fire Emblem" (hence the title).
Kotaku is even convinced that this may be the strangest crossover at the time of its report. The outlet thought to have Marth, Roy, Ike, Lynn and Eliwood from "Fire Emblem," while "Shin Megami Tensei" could have high school kids, goddesses, and of course, demons.
A mix of traditional fantasy and contemporary dark lore is certainly interesting back in 2013, so we can only hope that the Wii U title, if released this year, can live up to the majority's -- if not everybody's -- interest.
