Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs, Features & Price: What We Know So Far [Rumors]
This may not be of best interest to Xperia's most loyal followers, but recent talks have suggested that Sony's departure from the smartphone market is all imminent. The lack of confirmation has led to doubts centered on the Xperia Z4, the purported successor to last year's Z3.
Citing the not-so-impressive sales performance of Xperia smartphones, Christian Today predicted that the Xperia Z4 might be the company's last flagship.
If you've been looking forward to Sony's smartphone releases, then this, certainly, is bad news.
On a lighter note, Sony has to make their announcement first, so we could still keep the hopes up -- at least for now.
The rumored Xperia Z4 is initially thought to launch at this year's Mobile World Congress, alongside rivals Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 and LG G4. However, AndroidPIT has recently confirmed that the device will not make an appearance at the Barcelona event.
This sounds already frightening, but in another article, the outlet wrote, "In any case, it shouldn't be too much longer until we see the Xperia Z4 unveiled to the public."
Despite the turn of events, the PCAdvisor seems convinced that the device will still appear in the upcoming event. In case you haven't heard, the Mobile World Congress happens on Mar. 2 - 5 in Barcelona, Spain.
One interesting spec that's seemingly confirmed for the Xperia Z4 is its processor. As told by Know Your Mobile, Sony itself tipped, "We're excited about the new capabilities of the Snapdragon 810 processor and are looking forward to working with Qualcomm Technologies as we bring new Xperia products to consumers later this year."
As written by GSMArena, the Xperia Z4 is touted to release in Q2, which means April could be the soonest (prompting a March launch -- so yes, the MWC).
The source listed some of the device's alleged specs, which include a 5.2-inch screen, 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, Adreno 430 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP main camera, 5 MP front snapper, 32 GB / 64 GB storage options, microSD support (up to 128 GB), Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 5.0 Lollipop support.
In terms of price, the Xperia Z4 is pegged to sell for $1250.
In the meantime, reports are centered on the Xperia Z4 Tablet, having been spotted in Sony's Xperia Lounge app. The leak has been immediately removed, CNET said, but screenshots have proven their importance once again.
