‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Trailer, Cast & News: Official Poster Reveals Cameos & The Vision!
Marvel has finally released the first ever official movie poster for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and it has more spoilers than you could expect from a photo, as noted by Cleveland News.
While it depicted the team of superheroes in their battle cry, which is expected, lowering your gaze to the bottom of the page will show that there are other fan favorites making appearances in the biggest block buster film of the year: Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Stellan Skarsgard as Dr Eric Selvig, and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter will be in the film, probably for cameo appearances.
Website Comic Book noted on these characters probable roles in the film:
The last time The Falcon was seen during "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" he was with the Captain (Chris Evans) and they were on the lookout for the Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). Elba previously let slip that he's reprising his role, so it does come as no surprise. However, Heimdall is of another world, so how he could be part of the film remains to be seen.
Atwell previously confirmed her role as Agent Peggy Carter for flashback scenes in "Ant-Man," however, her role in "Avengers" is still a mystery. She could appear in a flashback scene (since Agent Carter was already depicted as an old woman in "Winter Soldier." Otherwise, her return could be enough to confirm fan theories that there will be time travel in the "Age of Ultron" and this could be a game changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The return of these heroes are not the only ones to look forward to. Looking back up to the top of the poster, right above the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is what seemed to be a droid with a cape - The Vision, who is to be played by Paul Bettany. Bettany voiced Iron Man's (Robert Downey Jr) AI companion, JARVIS since the first Iron Man movie, and now, he's going to be taking the spotlight as the creation of the film's villain, Ultron.
According to Screen Rant, the droid will have typical superpowers like flying, and according to Bettany, his character is also very good at punching. However, he also has something that sets him apart from other heroes, androids or otherwise. Bettany shared, "He also has the ability to change his density and that is... that's awesome awesome and really exploited brilliantly by Joss in terms of really cool moments that Vision is able to do something otherworldly and it's kind of great. And he's discovering it all as he goes along."
How density change translates on the big screen remains to be seen.
