'Magic Mike XXL' Release Date, Cast & News: Film Cancels Joe Manganiello & Sofia Vergara Wedding?
Sofia Vergara has revealed that "Magic Mike XXL" is the reason for the postponement of her wedding with fiancé Joe Manganiello.
Manganiello and the "Modern Family" star got engaged on Christmas Eve after only six months of dating, E! News reported.
"We wanted to get married this summer, but Joe will be busy working and promoting 'Magic Mike 2'," Vergara said at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, as quoted by Fox News Latino. "We want to get married at a time when we can get away and make for a honeymoon. So the wedding will probably be later this year."
Manganiello also expressed his desire to have a summer wedding, but like what his would-be wife said, he is going to focus on the promotion of the Channing Tatum starrer "Magic Mike 2," Fox News Latino wrote.
Vergara also teased about her upcoming union with the actor, and it seems the couple is planning to have a big celebration. "It has to be a lot of people. We sat down and tried, 'OK, let's see if we can do like 20 and 20,' and it was impossible," the Colombian bombshell explained, as reported by Fox News Latino.
Prior to the wedding, the couple also spent months looking for a surrogate mom, and the good news is they have finally found a match.
In Touch reported the news, saying that they won't release the identity of the surrogate mom but that she "works closely" with Vergara and "spends a lot of time with her."
The actress, who is already a mom to 23-year-old Manolo from her first marriage, wouldn't disclose the reason why she doesn't want to carry her second baby, saying that it's "a closely guarded secret," the news outlet reported. The couple, however, is excited for the arrival of their child.
Aside from Tatum and Manganiello, "Magic Mike 2" will also see Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, and Gabriel Iglesias reprising their roles, Screen Crush reported. Newcomers in the cast include Elizabeth Banks, Amber Heard, Jada Pinkett Smith, Andie MacDowell, Donald Glover, and Michael Strahan.
According to Screen Crush, the "Magic Mike" sequel will pick up "the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game." Before stepping down from their game, the remaining Kings of Tampa will have one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.
"Magic Mike 2" is slated for release in theaters on July 1, 2015.
