One Direction & Fifth Harmony New Song: Girl Group Covers ‘They Don't Know About Us!' [Listen]
Fifth Harmony recently took a shot at doing a rendition of a One Direction track.
During an appearance at the KIIS 106.5 in Sydney, Australia to promote their debut album titled "Reflection," the girls of Fifth Harmony performed a unique and melodic rendition of One Direction's song "They Don't Know About Us."
Listen to the cover below.
For those unacquainted with the track, "They Don't Know About Us" came from the British boy band's second album, 2012's "Take Me Home." According to Billboard, this was not the first time that Fifth Harmony, which consists of Camilla Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Dinah Jane Hansen, and Normani Hamilton, did a cover of a song from another artist. They also did a rendition of Ne-Yo's "Miss Independent Part 1."
Fifth Harmony's "Reflection" was released early this month, placing at No. 5 on Billboard's 200 albums chart, the music site noted. Liam Payne, one of the boys of 1D, took to Twitter to promote the album he and expressed his desire to remix the songs included there. Aside from singing alongside his fellow 1D members (Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson), Payne is also known for his DJ skills as Big Payno.
When asked about Payne's compliment about "Reflection," the 5H girls have confessed, in an interview with VH1, that they wouldn't say no to collaborating with the boy band.
"1D; that was really awesome," the girls said, as quoted by SugarScape. "Hopefully [we can work together.] We hope so...One of our really good friends who produced the song ['Reflection'], Julian Bunetta, he works with One Direction as well. It's crazy that Liam Payne recognised us on Twitter and told us about 'Reflection,' so hopefully there's something that's going to happen."
One can't deny the similarities between the two groups: each has five members and both were formed by Simon Cowell through the reality TV show "The X-Factor." These resemblances of the groups are probably the reasons why they support each other. Just recently, the "Sledgehammer" singers revealed 1D's biggest career advice to them.
"We've met the boys and seen how humble and down-to-earth they are, it's clear they are still so real," Hansen said, as quoted by a separate report from SugarScape. "It makes us want to make sure we don't lose ourselves in this business, that's what we learned from them."
She added, "Harry [Styles] told us, 'Through everything you should stick together. Make sure you never break your bond'. I think that was good advice."
