Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date, Specs & Price: Top Features To Expect [Rumors]

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be released in fall 2015, according to PC Advisor.

Samsung has become known for releasing new devices right around the start of the IFA, annually held in Berlin, according to PC Advisor.

Since the IFA, which is one of the world's leading consumer electronics exhibition, usually takes place during the first few weeks of September, Samsung has used the event to promote their new devices heavily as the winter shopping season arrives, according to PC Advisor.

The IFA will begin on Sep. 4, 2015.

No reports have indicated the possible specs and features of the Galaxy Note 5 thus far, but industry insiders have speculated on what's most likely for the new device.

According to Gizbot, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with an octa-core 2.9 GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm 808 chipset. The device is also expected to have 4GB of RAM. PC Advisor speculates the Galaxy Note 5 to have an Exynos 7420 chipset.

Industry insiders also differ on the possible specifications of the Galaxy Note 5 cameras. Gizbot is leaning towards an 18MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. On the contrary, Valuewalk places the count at 21 and 6 megapixels for the rear and front-facing cameras respectively, according to PC Advisor.

PC Advisor speculates the Galaxy Note 5 will have 32GB of onboard storage with an SD slot which could allow for up to 128GB of space to be added.

Gizbot places the Note 5 screen resolution at 1440x2560 pixels while utilizing 4K Super AMOLED display.

A consensus on the screen size for the Galaxy Note 5 is being reached, with several sources such as Gizbot, Note5Us and PC Advisor, all placing it at 5.9 inches.

Note5Us also provides more rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 5, including the possibility of aluminum-finished edges and a curved, metallic body.

The website also claims the Galaxy Note 5 will be resistant to scratches, dust and water. It also believes the device will come with a retina scanner and a fingerprint sensor.

Other notable features sources are predicting for the Galaxy Note 5 include the Knox Security and super battery-saver modes. The device could also have a heart sensor.

Another claim suggests that the Galaxy Note 5 will be capable of wireless charging.

Note5US places the price of the Galaxy Note 5 at $1000.
