'Hawaii Five-0' Season 4 Episode 10 Spoilers: Flashbacks Reveal McGarrett's Father's Story of Pearl Harbor Attack
Thanksgiving came to Hawaii in the latest episode of "Hawaii Five-0," which meant a reunion with an eccentric aunt and a grisly murder case.
McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) Aunt Deb (Carol Burnett), a former famous nightclub singer, visits for Thanksgiving. But McGarrett and Deb's reunion is cut short when he gets a call that a crew at sea discovered a body in a barrel.
Meanwhile, Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) tells Kono (Grace Park) via Skype that Five-0 has captured Michael's remaining allies, so Kono and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) are no longer targets.
It's later discovered that the body found in the barrel is Kyle Russo, a Secret Service Agent. McGarrett and Catherine (Michelle Borth) then go to the head of the Secret Service, who is on the island, and tells him about the agent's death. While there, they discover Russo's cell phone, which contains intel on the President, who is on his way to Hawaii.
It turns out Russo was being followed by his neighbor, Keith Nolan, whose real name is Dante Barkov, who is an assassin for hire. They trace the lye that Berkov used to dispose of the body to Rafael Moreno, a member of the Albanian Crime Syndicate. They eventually track down Moreno, who the team shoots when he makes a move for his weapon.
While there, they find lye and guns belonging to Barkov.
The team interrogates Moreno, and he finally cracks, telling Five-0 that the real target was Andrea, the Secret Service agent's daughter, who was a witness to a murder of a high ranking member of the Russian crime family. The FBI wanted to speak to her, but she went into hiding.
It turns out that Andrea and her mother are in Hawaii, and Barkov finds them. The Five-0 team arrives at the scene just as gunfire starts. The team is able to rescue Andrea and her mother, who were about to be shot to death by Barkov.
The episode also featured McGarrett bailing his aunt out of jail, who was caught buying marijuana. Deb tells McGarrett that she was buying medicinal marijuana because she has a serious brain tumor, and came to visit them to say goodbye.
In the end, everyone goes to McGarrett's house for Thanksgiving, but they can't find a large enough turkey, so everyone heads to La Marina Tiki Bar. Aunt Deb then goes on stage at the bar to sing once again.
On the next episode, "Ho'onani Makuakane," (Honor Thy Father) "Flashbacks recall John McGarrett 's story on the events of December 7, 1941, the day Pearl Harbor was attacked."
In other "Five-0" news, Chi McBride has been upped to series regular as SWAT Captain Lou Grover.
"I know this sounds corny but the only thing I ever wanted in my career was to be on CBS, the home of my idol Jackie Gleason," McBride said.
"After his first guest spot, we knew we had something special here," said executive producer Peter M. Lenkov. "He just fit seamlessly into the fabric of Hawaii Five-0 and viewers are enjoying the spirited, if sometimes antagonistic, interaction between him and McGarrett. We are so thrilled to welcome Chi into our Ohana."
"Honor Thy Father" airs on Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
