iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs, Features & Concepts: What We Know So Far [Rumors]
While Apple has not confirmed the existence of the iPhone 6s, speculations all over the iPhone 7 continue to surge online. For one, the Christian Post has recently heard that the new iPhone arrives on Sept. 8, housed in either a Cupertino- or San Francisco-based event.
Let's get straight to predicted specs and features of the iPhone 7:
The Next 3D Phablet
For quite some time, Apple has settled with 4 inches (or around that margin) for many of its iPhone screens. It is only last year when the world has finally seen how Tim Cook and company craft a phablet, notably through the iPhone 6 Plus. Macworld is convinced that the iPhone 7 will be an update to the iPhone 6 Plus, hence sporting the similar 5.5-inch screen.
Citing information from the Economic Daily News, Macworld noted that the device is purported to have a "naked eye 3D screen." Simply put, this type of display allows users to enjoy the perks of 3D vision while eliminating the need to wear glasses.
Sidewall Display
The iPhone 7 could pack a very interesting display feature. As told by the PCAdvisor, an Apple patent published this year has mentioned about "sidewall displays." This is suggestive of the company's take on Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge.
Dual-Lens Photography
Much of the talks over the next iPhones' camera are rooted from John Gruber's earlier statement. Late in 2014, he shared over The Talk Show (Daring Fireball), "The specific thing I heard is that next year's camera might be the biggest camera jump ever."
"I don't even know what sense this makes, but I've heard that it's some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery," Gruber spilled.
According to ValueWalk, it is also believed that the iPhone 7 will pack replaceable lenses. This is a very enticing speculation, allowing flexibility in shooting preferences.
Meanwhile, the Christian Post mentioned speculations from analysts who believed that the device will see a 13- or 20-MP upgrade for its main camera.
Brand-New Processor
The iPhone 7 is strongly suggested to pack the next-generation A9 chip. The processor is assumed to be a collaboration between Apple and rival company Samsung.
Because of this, the Korean tech giant is expectant of profit improvement this year, Know Your Mobile reported. The outlet took note of analyst Sravan Kundojjala remarks, "Samsung LSI hasn't directly confirmed Apple as its 14nm customer. But the company sounded confident about 14nm FinFET ramp in the second half of this year during its Q4 2014 earnings call."
More Specs & Features
Other alleged specs and features of the iPhone 7 include 2 GB of RAM, Touch ID support and reversible USB charger, the PCAdvisor noted. The outlet expects it to come with a rounded, aluminum body and a "very slim" profile.
