Lewis Hamilton Nicole Scherzinger Split: F1 Champ Attends Jay Z's Roc Nation Party
F1 racing champ Lewis Hamilton was spotted at a party hosted by Jay Z in Beverly Hills, California, a couple of days after it was confirmed that he and singer Nicole Scherzinger have decided to end their relationship.
The whole U.S. vacation was part of the process of moving on, said Daily Mail. It reported that he was partying with superstars like Kanye West and Nick Jonas at the annual Roc Nation brunch held last Saturday night.
Singers Kelly Rowland, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj were also in attendance, the report added.
According to Motorsports Talk, the defending Formula 1 world champion and the former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls were in an on-and-off relationship since they began dating in 2007. The ultimate breakup would be the fourth, it said.
Media learned about the issue earlier last week -- Wednesday, per Daily Mail -- while the athlete was testing his racing unit in the Spanish municipality of Jerez. News.com.au reported that he even spun out of the track hours after the issue broke.
Later in the day, mediamen were not allowed to ask about the British racing star's personal life, the report added. Will the split affect his performance as he defends his championship?
The Daily Mail reported that Hamilton had flown to London on Wednesday to salvage the relationship. He reportedly chartered a private Jet.
On Friday, he tweeted a thank-you message for the fans: "Hi everyone. I want to thank you all for the love & support during this tough time. It means the world to me. #TeamLH #bestfansintheworld."
On that same day, he was seen at London's Heathrow airport, looking glum while dragging two bags, said another Daily Mail report. It looked like he was struggling to accept the parting of ways, it added.
The appearance at the Jay-Z party would be the next update.
Scherzinger, 36, on Thursday admitted to The Sun: "I'm devastated that it didn't work out. It was the hardest decision we had to make, but we made it together."
The former "X Factor" judge was in Abu Dhabi to cheer on her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend in a November victory, Motorsports Talk recalled. She was even seen celebrating with his team and family.
"I love Lewis and I know he loves me... We wish nothing but happiness and the very best for one another. I'm trying to stay strong in my faith right now," she told The Sun.
Daily Mail quoted a well-placed source as saying that their long distance relationship and thus, a lack of time for each other led to the break up. On the other hand, The Sun noted that it was all because Hamilton refused to marry his muse.
The singer has been busy with a West End revival of "Cats" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. She plays Grizabella, detailed Daily Mail.
