‘Dead or Alive 5: Last Round' Release Date, Trailer & Updates: PC Modders Warned to Behave
You might need to stop messing with DOA characters. Seriously.
"Dead or Alive 5: Last Round" is set to arrive for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on Feb. 17, GamesRadar reported. That's a wide range of platforms, right? But as we near the title's release, game director Yohei Shimbori has given a word of warning to future PC modders.
Speaking to MCV, the helm explained, "We have to deal with mod issues from an IP holder perspective... We would like to ask PC users to play our game in good moral and manner. Otherwise, we won't be able to release a title for PC again."
It's unclear how the game is ought to be played in terms of "good moral and manner," considering it's fighting nature per se. In the DOA world, someone needs to lose; otherwise, nobody wins. It's simple logic.
So how should we play the upcoming title?
Apparently, the idea of playing in "good moral" may be attributed to something not directly related to fighting. MCV is convinced that Shimbori's concern stems from one of the game's "most infamous traits."
Long-time players would know that DOA's characters involved scantily-clad women -- heavy clothing isn't just the norm here.
As told by Ars Technica, it's not very difficult to spot footage of "nude mods" among existing console versions. With the title's debut on the PC, the possibility to spawn them is born.
The PCGamer took note of Shimbori's further remarks, "Our characters, male and female alike, are created in a fantasy setting and are using extraordinary abilities to compete with each other in a clearly light-hearted, over-the-top universe."
"Their abilities are very balanced and we want to present all of them as dynamic, strong, sexy and confident," he clarified.
The upcoming game is expected to bring the newest "Soft Engine," a visual upgrade set to soften the characters' skin tone, Heavy reported. Other additions cited by the outlet include the character Honoka, the comeback of Raidou and 31 new outfits -- how cool is that?
Described to own a fighting style called "Honoka Fu," Honoka is an 18-year-old Japanese schoolgirl. "Honoka Fu" is known to be a combination of fighting moves delivered by other characters. We wonder how it's going to look like.
"Dead or Alive 5: The Last Round" is developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. For those on the lookout of the game's availability in Steam, note that its release has been moved from Feb. 17 to Mar. 30, IGN reported.
