The first episode of Capcom's "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" is set to arrive on Feb. 24, PlayStationLifeStyle.net reported. The game will be available for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC.
With events fast approaching, we've curated five of the most essential things you ought to know before EP 1 drops. Read on.
1. It's not for the faint of heart.
"Resident Evil: Revelations 2" is the tenth installment of the "Resident Evil" franchise, the PC Advisor wrote. It succeeds the spin-off "Resident Evil: Revelations," released in 2012.
As told by the source, the title features an episodic format, but it's worth pointing out that the game is all about horror -- survival horror, to be exact.
That means you won't be seeing ordinary monsters popping out of nowhere, for the mere benefit of a thrilling gameplay. Instead, "Revelations 2" will bring creatures tied to a deep storyline, virus-infected and scientifically-mutated. And of course, they must be battled out!
2. Four Unique Players
The upcoming title brings four different characters, each with his/her own unique story designed for gameplay, according to Capcom's Resident Evil Revelations 2 official website. First among them is Claire Redfield, known to be one of those lucky folks who have survived Raccoon City's destruction in 1998.
Barry Burton is another notable character. He has been originally involved in the Raccoon City incident as a member of S.T.A.R.S. At present, he works for BSAA, an anti-bioterrorism organization.
Moira Burton is Barry's daughter. Although she's friends with Claire, Moira is described to be "foul-mouthed" and "rebellious."
Finally, the most mysterious character lies in the persona of Natalia Korda, a little girl noted to possess more than the ordinary human senses. She appears to spend more time with Barry.
3. A Twist in Time
"Revelations 2" is set between the events of "Resident Evil 5" and "Resident Evil 6," Metro noted. The game's basic plot brings Claire and Moira to a zombie-infested island, and as you may have guessed it, this is where the fun kicks off.
4. A Choice to Play
According to the PC Advisor, prospects may download the game per episode or as a whole. March 20 brings the full retail release of the title. If you're planning to get the first episode right away, you might reconsider waiting few more weeks for a one-stop purchase.
5. About Raid Mode
Raid Mode is acknowledged by Capcom as a fan-favorite; it was once in the first "Revelations" game. The feature is described to be an action-packed, "shoot-and-loot" style game -- bringing bigger stages, more customization, split-screen co-op and of course, stronger enemies.
