LG G4 Release Date, Specs, Features & Price: iPhone 6 Crusher? All-Metal Design Tipped
If we were to name smartphone brands which have made significant history, LG is one that's sure to surface. The company's flagships had always been known: the LG G3 was the first major handset to sport a 2K screen; the LG G Flex is the world's first curved, flexible smartphone; and its successor, the LG G Flex 2, is the first Android-Lollipop smartphone that has packed Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810, 64-bit architecture -- not to mention the model's ability to "self-heal."
All these things may have kept LG followers and the entire mobile community wondering: What will the company offer next?
As the calendar hit February, the world's chance to behold the next LG flagship just got closer. That's because the LG G4, the supposed sequel to the G3, is rumored to appear in this year's Mobile World Congress. The event happens in Barcelona on Mar. 2 - 5.
Yet there had also been reports, which claimed that a MWC launch is unlikely. Instead, the phone could opt for a Q2 unwrapping. Nevertheless, all eyes expect the flagship's release before the second half of 2015.
There are many interesting details about the LG G4 that's very alluring to think about at present. As told by Phone Arena, one LG exec has revealed that the next smartphone won't come in the MWC, since they want to "spend more time perfecting the new phone."
The report specifically indicated that the LG G4 will arrive with a fresh design and an improved camera, in line with the exec's further statement that "design will continue to differentiate in terms of strategy."
For one, the device's screen might be slimmed to 5.3 inches, Stuff reported. But this marries an interesting spec: The source mentioned that the handset's display is rumored to have a 3K resolution of 2880 x 1620 pixels. If this holds truth, LG makes another history with the G4. It'll be the most pixel-packed smartphone the world has ever had.
The outlet went on to predict that the LG G4 acquires the G Flex 2's trait, "We'd be surprised if LG drastically opted for an all-metal build, but we could see the G Flex 2's self-healing plastic rear cover make an appearance on the G4."
With LG's strategic -- and sometimes shocking -- approach to its flagships, it may be safe to say that the G4 actually has the odds of getting an all-metal architecture. What more?
Rumored specs of the LG G4 include an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 16 MP camera, 32 GB / 64 GB storage options (with microSD slot) and Android 5.0 Lollipop support, Gotta Be Mobile cited. A built-in stylus feature has also been tipped.
Android PIT predicted that the handset, for its regular version, sells at least $600.
If the LG G4 surprises with a full-metal build, superb specs included, will the handset finally dethrone Apple's iPhone 6?
