Kim Kardashian Super Bowl 2015 Commercial in HD: Watch 'Famous Person' T-Mobile Ad Video Here

Kim Kardashian's T-Mobile ad for the Super Bowl this year has the look and feel of a public service announcement, but it's all just a hilarious self-mockery.

The reality superstar "is back for the Super Bowl and putting her title as 'famous person' to good use," noted ABC News, saying that the Sunday commercial got Kim to use her enormous love for cell phones and selfies to "save" something — in this case, unused data.

In the 30-seconder she says: "Each month, millions of gigs [gigabytes] of unused data are taken back by wireless companies. Tragic."

Sounds serious, right?

But when Kim begins to walk, the ad reveals itself as a comedic application of T-Mobile's Data Stash. Although she still puts on that mournful look, there's a frame behind her that looks like a screengrab of a tweeted selfie.

"Data you paid for that could be used to see my makeup or my backhand, my outfits, my vacations, and my outfits sadly all lost" says the 34-year-old wife of pop star Kanye West — she intentionally repeated "outfits" for emphasis.

"Please help save the data," she concludes.

Then, as the frame fades out, a phrase eases in: "It's your data. Keep it." There's also a hashtag: #KimsDataStash, obviously to get the interaction going even outside the field.

You can say it's a cross-promotion for Kim's new book on selfies, "Selfish," slated for release on April 28, noted Time.

The piece also said that this was also a response to a self-imposed challenge the mobile carrier declared in a plain-looking but humorous 30-minute spot at last year's Super Bowl.

In the advertisement, which basically shows funny texts fading into a magenta screen, the brand had said: "Switch to T-Mobile and we'll pay off your contract. Every last penny. No. We're not on our 4th margarita. Break up with your crummy carrier, and we'll pay for it."

Then, "Maybe next year, we'll do an ad with overpaid movie stars."

Android Headlines explained: "Kim is talking about T-Mobile USA's new data stash, how customers can save their data for a year without it being reclaimed back by the wireless carrier."

Writer David Steele said that his gadgets rarely even consume half of their monthly data allowance, and that the extra is taken back monthly and not added onto the next. T-Mobile's service helps you keep the unused allowance for the following month.

"Enough is enough," T-Mobile explained. "T-Mobile is the only national carrier that lets you roll the unused 4G LTE data you paid for into the next month, for 12 months — all at no extra charge."

However, Android Headlines noted a downside. If the data stacked up and was consumed for data-heavy tasks like movie marathons, the act might cause a "local disturbance," affecting the whole carrier's service.

According to UPI.com, an extended version of the commercial will be shown on Feb. 1, when the New England Patriots faces the Seattle Seahawks for the NFL title.
