NBA Legend Dennis Rodman Claims He Gets Death Threats Over North Korea Trip
NBA legend Dennis Rodman released some emotional stuff in a recent interview about his trip to North Korea which he claimed has made him a target of many death threats.
In an interview which was part of his new documentary "Dennis Rodman's Big Bang in Pyongyang," Rodman explained why he really wanted to visit the country.
"I want people to see that I get death threats a lot. Why are you doing this Dennis, why are you doing that? I just want to keep things together," the former NBA star said as he tried to fight tears from falling down his eyes.
During the interview which was cited by a TMZ report, Rodman also called out Jay-Z and Beyonce and said that they are famous people who are not willing to make a risk to have a better world.
"None of these people are doing what I'm doing. I'm just trying to open the doors, that's it," he added in the interview.
A Telegraph article noted that Rodman has visited Pyongyang several times and has made a few conversations with Kim-Jong-Un.
Rodman also defended the country from the recent hacking controversy that affected Sony Pictures following the outrage over the movie, "The Interview". North Korea was blamed for its alleged cyber attack which attempted to stop the release of the film which stars James Franco and Seth Rogen. The movie also portrays the killing of the North Korean leader.
"If the North wanted to hack anything in the world, anything in the world, really, they are going to go hack a movie? Really?!" Rodman told the Telegraph.
Explaining his new movie about North Korea, he said that this is the "real" film which speaks about the country.
"This is the real North Korea, this is the real movie. To see a guy like that, this 5-foot-2 or 5-foot-1 guy, have that much power, in a country like that, and see people get emotional, crying, 20,000 of them clapping, it was so surreal. It blew my mind," he explained
When asked how he responded to people calling Kim-Jong-Un a bad guy, he said that he was surprised that the leader treated him very nicely.
"I'm not a hater. I don't care what you do in the world. If you treat me nice, I'm good. And one thing people don't' understand, until you go to North Korea and actually see it, it's a whole different story," he added.
Reacting on "The Interview", the basketball player said he would love to take Rogen to North Korea and actually see the situation there before he could make a truthful movie of the place.
"I would still [take Rogen] now. I would ask Seth and all those involved in the movie to go to North Korea with me. And then do an interview with me about the movie," Rodman said.
