‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Release Date & Updates: Integrated Co-Op Feature Coming? [Rumors]

By Staff| Jan 27, 2015

Fans on the lookout for "Red Dead Redemption 2" could be ten months away from seeing the highly-anticipated sequel, if current reports hold truth.

If this is inviting enough, Quikdocs.com has heard that the game arrives in November. The outlet also cited one senior engineer named "Feinstein," who was noted to be working on the sequel.

However, with no official word coming from Rockstar, we're taking the information with a pinch of salt.

Speculations on the alleged title had been viral, following Rockstar's statement in its earlier "Asked & Answered" post. At the time, the company expressed its pleasure to hear great enthusiasm for the "Red Dead" series. Fans had been invited to "stay tuned in 2015" for further announcements. It is unclear whether 2015 will see the arrival of the game, but some may have thought so.

The gaming giant wrote, "We don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually."

Interestingly, one user from a NeoGAF thread claimed speaking with an insider, and tipped that players can expect an integrated co-op feature. The post said, "So I spoke to an insider at Rockstar who confirmed that Rockstar is indeed developing a sequel to 'Red Dead Redemption' for PS4 / Xbox One. Don't have a lot of concrete details but expect co-op to be integrated and focused on."

Reports coining a new title for the sequel have also surfaced online. Citing information from GameKlan's Suresh Gupta, KDramaStars reported that the next "Red Dead" game is allegedly titled "Red Dead Revolution." Accordingly, the game will be "tied" to the franchise's first installment.

That said, it would be difficult to predict whether the upcoming game arrives as a sequel or a spin-off. BREATHEcast reported that John Marston's deceased character will be replaced by Jack Marston as lead protagonist.

The above outlet went on to cite another report from Cyberland, which claimed that the new "Red Dead" game will launch for the PC, unlike the first title.

More recently, Crossmap took note of one anonymous tipster, who shared a supposed concept art for "Red Dead Redemption 2." According to the outlet, the image has been posted in 4chan and hinted the game's possible location.

The tipster, Crossmap noted, was thought to be the same person who has leaked materials for "Destiny: House of Wolves" -- before similar information was officially released.
