Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of MTV's supernatural show "Teen Wolf," and writer Eric Wallace teased avid viewers about what they can expect when the show's fifth season returns sometime in June, Venture Capital Post reported.

"Teen Wolf" is loosely inspired by the fantasy, comedy film of the same name released in 1985 starring Michael J. Fox. Since its release in 2011, the show and its stars have been welcomed warmly by fans, and for its fifth season, the writers are promising even better things.

Wallace announced the return of the show during a podcast with Gecken but he didn't say the exact date, according to Hypable.

He was also asked about what he and the other writers have planned for the show, and said they were working to make it "the scariest season ever."

Lead actor, Tyler Posey, who plays student turned werewolf Scott McCall, also mentioned a similar thing during an interview in November, Hypable added.

"It's another thing we haven't done before," he said, and told fans that the new season was going to be "badass", according to E! Online.

He admitted that he knew only a few things about the show, but said that what he knew so far "is so badass that I would watch the entire season just for this one part."

Filming has yet to begin, but is said to start come early February. Also, several of its stars have been confirmed to come back, such as Dylan O'Brien as Stiles Stilinski, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, Arden Cho as Kira Yukimura, Ryan Kelley as Deputy Jordan Parrish and more, according to Master Herald.

The writers have also kept mum on the exact plot details for the season, but some of the actors have shared bits and pieces of information to give fans a clue on what to expect.

It's been reported that the mystery behind Deputy Parrish and what supernatural being he is, will be unveiled in the new season. Derek's newfound wolf powers will also be featured more, as well as Scott's growing power as a True Alpha, Master Herald added.

Linden Ashby, who plays Sheriff Stilinski, said that he's getting ready to come back and start filming and hinted that there will be a lot of action scenes in the new season while Dylan Sprayberry, who plays new werewolf on the block Liam Dunbar, teased that his character will be getting a love interest as well as show more of his growing friendship with Mason, played by Khylin Rambo, Master Herald continued.

"Teen Wolf" season five will return this summer with its first episode titled "Creatures of the Night."
