OnePlus Two Release Date: Specs & Price vs Xiaomi Mi Note Pro
Released in 2014, the OnePlus One was designed to go against Google's Nexus 5, HTC's One M8 and Samsung's Galaxy S5, Know Your Mobile wrote. Saved from the company's reported issue of inability to deliver "high enough volumes," the smartphone was claimed to be a success. This may have catapulted rumor mills into churning speculations aimed at its successor -- and if Math is easy enough, we're calling it the OnePlus Two.
Citing information from unnamed sources, GSMArena reported some of the OnePlus Two's rumored specs. But what's even more interesting, however, is the outlet's assumption that the device will face its chief rival in the recently-released Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.
Hence, we've curated the latest of OnePlus Two's alleged specs, matching them with those of Xiaomi's Mi Note Pro.
Release Date
Before we dive into details, note that OnePlus has already confirmed the idea of a OnePlus Two. The device is expected to arrive a few months from now, considering the statement of the company's CEO. Carl Pei told Android Headlines, "We're planning to have it [OnePlus Two] available in Q2 or Q3 [2015]. There's a lot more expectations on us this time, a lot more pressure."
Display
According to Ubergizmo.com, reports have indicated that the OnePlus Two retains the similar 5.5-inch display of its predecessor. However, the upcoming device was said to step into QHD.
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, as told by NDTV, features a 5.7-inch display that's also QHD. This houses a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, and a density of 515 ppi.
Camera
The OnePlus Two's alleged camera specs include a main camera worth 16 MP, The Bitbag reported. Its front snapper was hinted to be 5 MP.
The new OnePlus device could have greater megapixels, as the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro packed a 13 MP rear camera. However, this snapper had six-element lens, OIS support, Sony's CMOS sensor and Philips' two-tone flash. It's selfie camera came at 4 MP, with large 2-micron pixels.
Processor and RAM
Allegedly running the OnePlus Two is Qualcomm's popular Snapdragon 810, along with 4 GB of RAM, Ubergizmo.com noted.
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro also packed Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor and 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
Battery
According to GSM Arena, the OnePlus Two's battery is tipped to be 3300 mAh. This is one notable improvement from the OnePlus One, which had it at 3100 mAh.
Again, the OnePlus Two could be in advantage, since Xiaomi's Mi Note Pro packed a 3000 mAh battery. This, however, is supported by Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
Operating System
The upcoming OnePlus smartphone might arrive with a pre-installed Android 5.0 Lollipop, Ubergizmo.com noted. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, however, ran the Android 4.4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 6.
Price
The OnePlus Two has been estimated to retail for a $435 price tag, GSMArena wrote. In another report, the outlet took note of Xiaomi Mi Note Pro's higher selling price, which fell somewhere between $500 - $600.
