‘Jurassic Park 4: World' Update: Here's What the Diabolus Rex aka Indominus Rex Looks Like - Release Date, Cast, Trailer
After so many talks about the new monstrous dinosaur that will wreak havoc in Jurassic world, there is finally confirmation on how it will look like - and it looks scary, but not in a "half alligator, half snake that can swim as well as run" type that our imaginations ran us over with.
According to Screen Rant, the images released about the Diabolus Rex (now officially called Indominus Rex) were not to scale, it is undoubtedly a dinosaur with attributes from the T-Rex and velociraptors, with hints of stegosaurus and triceratops added to the mix.
The website described the hybrid monster as one that has tough grey skin, and spikes on its back as well as on the area on the back of its neck. It also looks like it's armor-plated, with some attributes from herbivores.
Despite the kind of boring look from what is fictionally one of the scariest dinosaurs to walk the earth, Screen Rant noted that the subtlety of the change in the species, and that its personality will more than thrill fans.
It looks boring, really just a typical dinosaur look, and creator Colin Trevorrow wanted it to stay that way. Techno Buffalo noted that the creator said, "The gaps in [Indominus Rex's] sequence were filled with DNA from other specia, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. I know the idea of a modified dinosaur put a lot of fans on red alert, and I understand it. But we aren't doing anything here that (Michael) Crichton didn't suggest in his novels."
The website also noted that the hybrid looks more ancient, like it would have existed about 231.4 million years ago as compared to the others. The Tyrranosaurus, for instance, existed about 66 to 68 million years ago, making them a lot younger.
However, despite it's very boring, typical dinosaur look, a report from the International Business Times noted that someone from the production team revealed that the new hybrid will have human genes added to its DNA, to add a "problem solving intelligence" to the species.
There is one more good news for the fans, however: according to the website, while the first trailer only showed the claws and shadow of the scary hybrid animal, a new trailer featured the first live look at the blood-thirsty monster.
Better yet, the Super Bowl XLIX will show a new footage of the anticipated film on NBC on February first.
The film will be released in theaters on June 2015 and will star Chris Pratt, Judy Greer, and Ty Simpkins.
