'GTA 5' PS4, Xbox One Online Heists DLC: Update's Release Date Set Before PC Game Launch
Rockstar Games announced on Tuesday that there will be a few schedule changes for the "GTA V" upcoming releases. The Online Heists DLC for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is being released first, while the PC version of the game has been delayed for late March, Express reported.
The New York-based company made the announcement on its official site, where they stated the new release date set for the PC version of "GTA V" as March 24.
"Our apologies for the slight shift in the date, but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be," the post read. "Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans."
This delays the game once more, moving it from the supposed Jan. 27 launch to March, a long while since the originally slated release on fall 2014. In its new release date, "GTA V" will come out at the same time as "Bloodborne" for the PlayStation 4, according to Forbes.
The Rockstar team also wrote, ""GTA Online for PC, which will support up to 30 players, will launch alongside GTAV for PC and will include GTA Online Heists."
As for the much-awaited PS4, Xbox One heists DLC, Rockstar Games assures that it will be released before March 24, 2015. "Online heists for consoles will be launching in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch," it said.
In order to appease fans, the company decided to release screenshots that showed "GTA V" in its full 4k resolution. They also revealed the minimum and recommended screens and system specs for the game, such as a recommended Windows 8.1 operating system, a memory of around 4GB to 8GB, video and sound card support and more.
"Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March," the post stated.
Despite assurances though, some fans definitely weren't pleased over the delay. The comment thread on Rockstar's announcement post was riddled with angry fans, some of whom are claiming that they won't bother playing the game any longer, according to Forbes.
Delays aside though, there is still a lot more to look forward to with the upcoming "GTA V" such as triple monitor support with NVidia 3D vision, as well as a Rockstar Editor, a video editor for those who want to record and edit their gameplay before uploading it to YouTube and Social Club.
