KD 7 Release Dates 2015: 'Lacquer Blue' Out Jan. 15 - Photos, Price & Where to Buy
A blue KD7 option is about to enter the sneaker market, soon to delight those who want that pop of color on the basketball court.
The KD7 "Lacquer Blue" -- mainly light blue lacquer with clearwater, total orange and white accents -- will be selling at $150 a pair beginning Thursday, Jan. 15, with full family sizing.
"In January, every road game counts. It's the home stretch. Kevin Durant loves playing on the road, where it's his team (Oklahoma City Thunder) against the world," said Nike.com, which will sell the colorway starting 10 a.m. EST (7 a.m. PST).
"The newest colorway of the KD7 puts a twist on a traditional away shoe with a unique camo- and lightning-inspired graphic on the Hyperposite heel," the website described. It will be made available in gradeschool size (3.5Y - 7Y) at $115; preschool size (10.5c - 3Y) at $80; KD7 TD (5c-10c) at $60.
Kicks on Fire reported that the decision to name the unit "Lacquer Blue" came after a naming issue.
The new option leads a bunch of new KD7 shoes, said Sneaker News, adding that the model is now being sold on the online store eBay and will be sold at footwear stores like shopawol. "The shoe aesthetic does exude a bit of OKC-flare .. given the head-turning azure throughout and the faint hints of Total Orange on the air max unit," Sneaker News added.
Another report calls it "energetic," with the wild print on the rear plus inside the Swoosh, where it is zebra-like. The KD emblem is on the tongue. There's a strap across the top, plus a bright orange Max Air heel unit.
The graphic is very unique, noted Sneaker Bar Detroit. Meanwhile, according to Freshness Mag, the shoe has "a head-turning design," adding that they will sell on Sneaker Politics. Kixify also has selling details.
"[It] will arrive at retailers on January 15th, so there's still a bit of time to get accustomed to the jagged print on the heel, one that we're not too sure of in terms of origin and inspiration," said the first Sneaker News report.
"This new spin on the classic OKC colors brings a fresh take on team-inspired concepts, although we are sure to come across some creative mock-ups as the KD7 continues on through Spring 2015 and into the Elite series," said the latter report from the same sneaker review outfit.
In the comments section, one visitor said, "getting them!!" as another said, "Dope." "Eh, I'd rather see what the kd 8 looks like".
On the Sneaker News report, the colorway has a relatively high 4.63 rating of a possible 5, from 27 voters.
