'NCIS' Season 11 Episode 10 Spoilers: Is Gibbs' Ex-Wife's Boyfriend Involved in a Murder?

By Jessica Michele Herring | Nov 22, 2013

On the latest installment of "NCIS," Ziva David's replacement was introduced, bringing a whole new dynamic to the "NCIS" team.

In the episode, NSA analyst Ellie Bishop (Ellie Wickersham) is called in after the SecNav discover a bug hidden in a pen, which is similar to the incident Bishop once wrote about in a report for the National Security Agency. Bishop is clearly a bit unconventional; she remembers things using food associations and retains almost everything she reads.

She proves to be an asset when it comes to interrogating a suspect they nab for the spying. In the scene, she makes the suspect believe that she's a lawyer without introducing herself as one, and he ends up confessing to everything. Although McGee (Sean Murray) is unsure if it will hold up in court, he is impressed with her ingenuity.

Bishop gets a bit unhinged after a co-worker is killed, but the team rallies to support her. In the end, the gang catches the suspect, who ends up being a man who is bitter over the appointment of a SecNav who doesn't have military experience.

It's then revealed that Bishop applied for a position at NCIS years ago before joining the NSA, which Gibbs (Mark Harmon) knew the whole time. It's clear she's wanted to join the NCIS team for awhile.

"I wanted to see if you were still up for a challenge," Gibbs told Bishop. "I'd like to keep you around." Bishop was put on a joint duty assignment, which means she will be sticking around for awhile.

On the next episode, "Devil's Triad," "Complications arise when the NCIS team discovers a link between a murder victim and the boyfriend of Gibbs' ex-wife."

Executive Producer Gary Glasberg also shared an inside scoop about future episodes with Entertainment Weekly . He teased that McGee will play a bigger role after the holidays. "And Delilah's still around. He's got his work cut out for him in some stuff coming up," Glasberg said.

He shared that the Dec. 17 episode will revolve around the team trying to figure out the outbreak of a strange disease occurring within military families.

"It's an Abby-centric story. So it's Abby and Carol [Meredith Eaton] and Palmer really focused in the lab to try to focus on what's going on," Glasberg teased. He also said there is a "really, really loving" story involving Vance, who is celebrating his first Christmas without his wife.

He said the show will also get back to the Parsa storyline after the holidays.

Glasberg also told TVLine that Gibbs' past will be a major focus around the time of the show's 250th episode. He said Gibbs' ex, Hollis Mann, played by Susanna Thompson, will reprise her role this January. "She is coming back in an unexpected way," he shared.

Tune in to "Devil's Triad" on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
