Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. Not Happening? Pacman's Next Fight 2015 May be Against 1 of These 3
Despite the much-awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., there are still doubts if the megafight will indeed happen as some are still eyeing other possible fighters for Pacman this year.
According to Sports World News, many are already positive that the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will happen as the undefeated American fighter has agreed to a date to face the Filipino champ but it also noted that the possible fight could still encounter some challenges like purse debates and promotional disagreements between the two camps.
Just in case the fight does not materialize and fans are again disappointed with its outcome, here are the top three players whom Pacquiao may consider fighting as Mayweather's replacement.
1. Danny Garcia - The undefeated boxer, according to Sports World News, is a popular fighter who has a 29-0-0, 17 KO record under his belt. He is considered to be a breakthrough boxer prior to last year showing great power and counter-punching skill.
A GMA News Online report said that Pacquiao has expressed interest to go against Garcia and that the latter is also willing to fight Pacquiao.
"I think that's a great fight for me, Manny Pacquiao. I'm bigger than him, I'm strong, I'm a good counter-puncher. I'm young, I'm in my prime. And I'll say this, be careful what you wish for," he was quoted by the same report as saying.
But Sports World News noted that Garcia still needs to fight better opponents for him to deserve a shot at Pacman.
2. Adrien Broner
Bleacher Report said that Broner earlier called Pacquiao to agree to a fight with him after he outclassed Carlos Molina last May but it noted that the former "may be going a little too far at this point in his career."
It was also noted by Sports World News that Broner vowed to kick Pacquiao's a** once they meet inside the ring. His fans are also hoping that he could prove himself against bigger opponents in boxing.
3. Terence Crawford
Crawford is another breakout boxer last year as he was able to prove himself in the lightweight decision. Sports World News said that facing Pacquiao may not be the smartest decision for Crawford since it would be a financial risk for him.
A BoxingBuzz report said that Crawford has what it takes to beat Pacquiao as he is "technically perfect, athletically impeccable, focused, and mature in the ring beyond his years." But he may have to wait a little bit longer since Pacquiao is still planning to face bigger opponents at this time.
Despite having these options for Pacquiao, the whole boxing industry is hoping that his fight with Mayweather will still materialize in May and will not just remain as mere talks.
