Sam Smith Criticizes, Says Some Pop Stars Are 'Just Awful'
Sam Smith has something to say about today's pop stars, and it's not nice.
The 22-year-old "Stay With Me" hitmaker recently talked to music legend Chaka Khan in the new issue of V Magazine, according to E! Online. During the interview, Smith dissed several unnamed pop artists.
"Even when you meet them-I won't name names-but some of these pop stars are just awful," the singer told Khan, as quoted by E! Online. "And they have not even had half the success that you've had and yet you're so humble and kind."
To which the "Through the Fire" singer replied, "Well, it's people skills. Talking to a screen all day long takes the human experience out. Luckily I grew up in a time when we only had a telephone at home," E! Online reports.
The two also revealed in the interview that they are planning to collaborate on a song, and they also have another artist in mind to join them.
"We are definitely going to write a song together," Khan told the English singer-songwriter. Smith then promptly answered in the affirmative, adding, "I was actually thinking me, you, and Mary [J. Blige] would do something."
Sam Smith and Jonathan Zeizel Shows Off New Romance
Smith also recently opened up on social media about his relationship with model Jonathan Zeizel. According to a separate report from E! Online, the singer posted a bunch of photos on his Instagram account of him and Zeizel while they were vacationing in Sydney, Australia.
